In modern days security or good environment is a major concern. The first layer of protection in the system is a Fingerprint recognition. The Fingerprint matching is done by utilizing the minutiae-based Fingerprint recognition algorithm. If the finger ridges match the door is open and mark the attendance, if finger matches failed, it will result in door is closed you can’t enter the class. We have also added an additional/alternate feature in which Teacher have access to open the door. A desktop-based application is used in the system for the interaction. This is more secured, reliable and low cost.
Based on the problems stated above, the aims and objectives of the project are.
1. The main objective of the fingerprint is to be free from keys and cards for the doors and avoid the unauthorized use. No need to carry the keys or cards to open the lock.
2. Developing a User-friendly interface and also providing an automated and easier way for the teachers and owners to interact with our product.
3. This project is to making an environment where rules must be followed by everyone and no one can break them
4. The second objective is to compare the manual system with the proposed system. This is important to ensure that the proposed system will provide more efficiency than the manual system.
5. This project aims to unlock door with fingerprint and mark attendance of a student It helps to mark automatic. attendance everything is automatic from door to attendance. 6. Our project will teach its user to how to manage time. students or members will be punctual because of this project.
To interact with the Smart Door Lock, we will build the circuitry module to work with door which will include Finger print sensor, Arduino, Relay Module, Motion Detector and solenoid lock module. During the development of this system, we will be using prototyping model. Our system includes Desktop-based application that will be used for customer end.
Phase-I: First of all, gather material to build circuitry and the software platforms on which the programming will be implemented (Arduino IDE, Microcontrollers, Relay Module, Motion Detector Module, Finger print sensor, Jumper wires, Battery etc.) Smart Door
Phase-II: SMART DOOR LOCK (SDL) Page | 12 Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT), Second phase is our project designing phase in which we create design or circuit diagram of our circuitry for clear understanding. We create functional hierarchy of the system that show all the functionality of the system components, we build use cases that shows hoe the actor interact with the product along with the test cases, we also develop data flow of the whole system that shows the flow of process from first state to last state, build sequence diagram shows object interactions in time and sequence, Entity Relationship Diagram that depicts how entities relate with each other, then the Workflow Diagram shows the visual representation of system process, Class Diagram which shows how all classes link with each other along with functionality they are performing, Architecture Diagram showing graphical representation of a set of concepts, that are part of an architecture, including their principles and components.
Phase-III: After designing phase, first we develop layout/ prototype of Desktop-based Application. After that we work on functional requirements and the database of our system.
Phase-IV: After phase III we will perform unit testing in which we will first Desktop Application Registration function, we also check whether the system communicate with our project or not, after that check the user registration, door lock, fingerprint and motion detector work properly or not
The system Smart Door Lock System (SDL) with finger that only records the attendance of the students in class. The significance must be considered in every proposed system to ensure that the proposed system will provide more benefit to all parties especially the faculty. For this project, the significance has been identified. This significance of this system is mainly focusing for the University itself. This is because this project will enhance the efficiency of the manual system. It also can reduce in term of paper usage and avoid human error. All activities are done by computer automatically With this system, lecturer can record the attendance of their students in class easily. They also do not have to count the percentage of every student at the end of the semester. As a user, students can motivate themselves to be more discipline and punctual.
In This Project We Present Smart door lock with attendance system because nowadays everything is being automated you don’t need to waste your time while machines can do it in easy ways manually attendance system are burden like daily mark attendance and save it while we have automated attendance system no one can mark it proxy attendance because of fingerprint system while the automated door lock help you to save your time from any kind of distraction.
Our motivation behind this project is to create a good environment where students study well and pay their 100% focus to the study we want to provide the excellent environment to the users, where user doesn’t face any difficulties regarding the attendance and any disturbance. The main goal of this project is to provide best environment to the users without any disturbance. We start by evaluating the need for such a system by sending a survey and analyzing the results. Student attendance will be mark if he unlock a door with his/her fingerprint. If he fails to come on time then he will be mark as absent.
Security is a major concern in our daily life, and digital locks have become an important part of these security systems. Finger Print is considered to be one of the safest key to lock or unlock any system as it can recognize any person uniquely and can’t be copied easily.
Also, till now there are many types of projects which perform automated attendance and door lock system differently but there is no such project perfect every project have their disadvantages while we try to avoid any circumstances which can distract or waste time of students and teachers.
