Anyone nowadays is concerned about security, whether it is data security or the security of their own house. The crime rate is also increasing day by day. Police and other departments tried hard to overcome the crime rate. Digital door locks have become popular in recent years as technology has advanced and the use of IoT has increased. A digital lock does not require a physical key to operate, instead of relying on fingerprint, Face ID, pins, passwords, and other methods to do so. We are making such a smart security system named as “Smart Door Lock”. The main goal of this project was to design and build a door lock system that allows users to unlock a door via face recognition, through a camera implanted on the door.The project has three main components a ESP32-CAM, a cloud backend, and a mobile application. The ESP32-CAM is attached to the door and is responsible for controlling a electronic door lock, using camera. Users can open the door by either tapping a button on the mobile app, or just by approaching the door. When a person rings the doorbell, the owner receives a notification on his phone with a picture of that person. The owner can also unlock the door with his mobile phone after checking the picture.
The main objective of this project is to develop a smart door lock in which the owner will open the door lock by watching and recognizing any person through the camera. This lock system is useful for the paralyzed persons who cannot walk. They can open the door sitting in their room. We can lock or unlock the door from anywhere with the help of the app.
ESP32 is a module which is used in our system to communicate mobile device to lock. We have to put camera onto the ESP32 module for capturing image. Our captured images will be store into SD card. We have to code ESP32 with C++ in Arduino IDE. then we have to connect ESP32 with resistors, capacitor, push button, regulator and 12V battery. Then, we will install our system on some door. Then we will connect our system to the “Blynk” interface to control the lock system. The Blynk app will receive image captured by ESP32 camera module.
There are many benefits to building this project so that every common man can easily buy it. Because in today's world everyone needs protection and security so that no stranger can enter his house. With the help of mobile app you can lock or unlock your door and with the help of camera you can see who has come to the door. We don't need to get up and see who's at the door. It can also save time. Its use will become common in organizations companies, factories and offices.
It will be a hardware project and it will have an app. In the hardware we will have ESP32-CAM chip and with it 12v electronic lock and it will use various components like bread board, push button, capacitor, resistor, transistor, regulator, LED lights and jumper wires. The first is to make a circuit of ESP32-CAM and other devices on the breadboard that will be connected to each other by wires. Then we have to program in ESP32-CAM chip so that it can run on our mobile app. Both the mobile app and ESP32-CAM must be connected to the network. In the app we will have different options to control it so that we can receive notifications, lock or unlock the door, identify the person by using the camera. All these controls will be present inside the app. Anyone who buys this product will be told the complete procedure.
