Project Summary

Since the top of the past 10 years, there has been an unbroken attempt to make devices for diabeteswhich are non-invasive (NI), that is devices that don't need bloodletting, and minimally-invasive (MI) devices, with the goal of decreasing a number of the considerations related to ancient invasive treatments. because of these limitations of the invasive ways we glance towards having a non-invasive methodology for glucose observance. one among the non-invasive techniques is Near-Infrared spectrographic analysis that we’ll adopt for this project.

Project Objectives

      • Infrared spectroscopy is used to get quantitate information.
      • The main purpose of infrared spectroscopy is to make easy, efficient, cheap, painless technique to measure glucose level.
      • Many people are suffer from diabetes it is necessary we invent such a technique which is efficient and perform accurately.
      • It is a non-invasive blood glucose Technique.
      • Infrared spectroscopy can analyze by three ways. Emission, absorption, reflection.
      • It determines the vibrations of atoms and determine the functional groups. Then It determines the functional group of glucose like C-H, O-H, C=O.

Glucose (C6H12O6)+O2? ?? GOxGluconolactone(C6H10O6)+H2O2

      • Glucose molecules absorb the light and then according to absorption it produces wavelength peaks.
      • Beer-Lambert law is used to find the absorption of sugar level.
      • The wavelength of light is 750– 2500 nm.

Project Implementation Method

The setup consists of glucometer that insert on whist. Sensor measure the glucose level at every second. Then block diagram show that sensor sense the glucose level between the cells or artries.Then we use computer to determine the glucose level.

It gives signals to computer .Computer display the output according to transmitted signal and display to users in different forms like the graphs, digital form etc.

Benefits of the Project

All the people will be elevated from the fear of sugar testing because no more blood samples will be required anymore.

It's a completelt non-invasive approach as well as no pains, discomforts are involved.

Moreover it's a handly device so tha everyone can have a regular based check of their sugar levels and can control diabetes at its initial state and thus the death rate can be contolled.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Software Requirements
For Arduino and keypad, we will use Arduino IDE for programming. The code snipet will be used to program the microcontroller ATMEGA238p on the ARDUINO UNO.
The Hardware components required are:
1. Arduino UNO
2. NIR Sensor 1550E
3. LCD
4. GSM Module
5. FGA10 Photodiode

An embedded device named as SMART AND CONVINIENT BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL MONITOR will be delivered which will be trained model and it will detect sugar levels of various people and will in turn tell that whether they have diabetes or not.
