Smart Ambulance
An ambulance is a medically equipped vehicle for sick or injured people that provides transportation services to and from the hospital, especially in emergencies. Currently, Pakistan has the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service that offers 24-hour emergency services. Traditionally, in Pakistan, people call ambulances using a cellular network. They remain worried and disturbed while waiting for an ambulance. Additionally, the Ambulance workers mostly remain unaware of the nature of casualty like heart attack, fire, accident, delivery, etc. Having exact information about the nature of the emergency can increase the chances of survival of a patient. In the literature, there is an app that wanted to cope with cited issues but It hasn’t any functionality of showing the approximate time, locating nearby hospitals, ambulance current location and path monitoring with an interactive GUI, ambulance worker current status, etc. Therefore, to overcome the flaws of previous work, the concept of Smart Ambulance Monitoring System is being introduced. In this project, we will develop an android application that will be having two views, one for users and the other for workers. The main features of our project will be live path monitoring as well as live current location using interactive GUI, approximate reaching time to and from the destination, current status, and nature of a patient, status of ambulance whether it is free or booked, locating nearby hospitals, and feedback portal from users and workers. It is believed that our proposed system will bring innovation in assisting patients in various ways as compared to traditional manual systems.
The objective of this project is to develop a platform which can fulfill all the shortcomings of the traditional system in ambulance service. People can find ambulance on an app, can track and monitor, can see the estimated time of reaching. Additionally, we will add ambulance status and nature of patient (severity), feedback from user as well as user and so on. We will show ambulance current location with an interactive GUI with an additional information like nearest hospitals, etc. We will use modern tools, technologies and framework as per need. Project Implementation Method:
In this phase the system will be implemented based on system designs. Initially small units will be developed and then they will be integrated to form a complete system in the next phase. There are different technologies available that are suitable to develop such software but after doing research we have selected the following.
Architecture:
Our Architecture is composed of two parts back-end and front-end. These components are discussed in detail in the following documents.
Services are the functions that will perform certain tasks of system and help to communicate with the external APIs and systems. Most of the features of the system will be implemented as a service.
Externet APIs
These are the third-party APIs that will be integrated in this system to perform certain tasks. Such as: Google maps or mapQuest API.

Our final deliverable will be a fully functional application for users as well as for amulance workers that will rich in all above stated functiaonlities.
