Samrt meter For Industrial Solar System Using Ardino
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe increasing demand of solar panel is emerging because of shortage of electricity and less availability of electricity, people are using it not just in their homes but it is also being used in industries worldwide and we have seen that solar panels are less costly but the point of concern here is that the solar panel requires monitoring and the heat up problem happens when we use them for a long period of time and in big industries it is hard to monitor the huge amount of solar panels at a time so basically we are developing the Arduino based monitoring system that not just only monitor the solar panel but this will also monitor the temperature and it will provide a proper time to time update on the website and as well as in mobile application and when the solar plates start heating up so it would automatically trip and will not let the temperature exceed.
Project ObjectivesOur research objective is to help and facilitate those solar panel users who are very much concerned about the monitoring and controlling of Solar panel and make their life easier by using smart meter based on Arduino technology , this project will not only help the household but the industries as well[6].
And people will show more concern about using the solar panels and the cost of maintenance will go down as people do not need to monitor solar panel by their own self, they just need a smartphone application which enables them to monitor at any time at anywhere[7]
Project Implementation MethodThe main feature of this project is to monitor the temperature of solar panel through web and mobile application Monitoring devices have become much more advance than even just a few years ago[10]. The days are long gone when monitoring systems just contained a simple graph indicating the amount of power our solar system is generating. You used to spend hours understanding what the data actually meant. With the growth of advanced equipment of solar system over the last few years, there is an increased significance in achievements of the system. As a result, new monitoring systems are making way to the markets. But as the nature of solar panels vary from one system to the other, the cost does too. Energy monitoring systems come in a full range from cheap instruments to very advanced gadgets. Selecting advanced monitoring systems will give you peace of mind, and it will also enable you to save money on a weekly, monthly and annual basis[11].
1.6.1 REQUIRED HARDWARE:
We are using Arduino mega 2560 ,motion sensor[12], temperature sensor, humidity sensor ,water level sensor, solar panel ,battery and charged controller.
1.6.2 REQUIRED SOFTWARE:
In order to make a web-based monitoring system, we have to use the following technology; HTML, Java and web server. In order to observe and control the system while working one computer has been used and already present and LAN line is connected to the internet.
HTML
- which stands for Hypertext Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages.HTML is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of tags, enclosed in angle brackets (like html>), within the web page content [13]. HTML tags normally come in pairs like
. The first tag in a pair is the start tag, the second tag is the end tag (they are also called opening tags and closing tags). In between these tags’ web designers can add text, tables, images, etc.
Java –
is a programming language originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which is now a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform? The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler object model and fewer low-level facilities. Java applications are typically compiled to byte code (class file) that can run on any Java Virtual Machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture [14].
Java Server (JSP)
JSP technology enables web developers and designers to rapidly develop and easily maintain, information-rich, dynamic web pages that leverage existing business systems[15].
Web Server –
can refer to either the hardware (the computer) or the software (the computer application) that helps to deliver content that can be accessed through the Internet[16].
Benefits of the ProjectThe motivation behind the solar system monitoring is to check the temperature from any desire location through your mobile application and web. Our motivation behind that had for reducing cost and increasing productivity was to create a monitoring system that could be easily installed along with the solar panels that could remotely monitor the entire array. This would effectively reduce their need to regularly check on the output of their panels. This will frees up employees to do other jobs, and helps management [3].
