Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe purpose of our project is to automate the manual system of the Library Management System with the help of IoT. We will be using the RFID technology to help update the records about Users and the Books. Mobile Application will be provided to the borrower as he/she can borrow, check availability of the book remotely and admin of the library (librarian) can accept and reject the request also can check the books location e.g. which book shelf. Borrower has to take the book physically. Then admin and the borrower have not to worry about the record. As the borrower will cross from the door the Radio frequency will identify the book by its tag and it will generate the signal to the admin system and system will automatically check that by whom this book was requested and hence will update the record into that borrower’s record. And if the book crossed from frequency is not requested by any then it will signal a threat message that book is being stolen.
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of our Project are to:
- Automate the manual system.
- To save the efforts of the librarian and borrower.
- To save the time of the librarian and borrower.
- Help finding books location.
- To save the books from the stealth.
- To make the library open book shelves.
The project is based on individual modules integrated together, our first work is to understand the current manual library system. For that we will be develop android and desktop application and will integrate the IoT component.
- The android application will show books availability and the information about the books. Through this borrower can easily select and borrow any desired book.
- Desktop application can see the users, update, and delete users and books. Can accept or reject the borrow request.
- Internet Information Services IIS will connect the Android and Desktop application and will have a centralized database.
- RFID will be connected to the desktop application and it will detect the book crossed through it and will signal the desktop application to update the record or will signal the threat in case the book is not request.
Benefits of the project will be for the library shareholders. Borrower don't have to walk to library without checking the book availability.
- Admin don't have to remember which book is kept in which bookshelf.
- Time will be saved.
- Free from the manual updating.
- Librarian don't have to calculate the fine of late book summation.
- Librarian don't have to worry about the books security.
- Library will become open bookshelf

Creating flow charts: we will create flow charts of the system from all aspects e.g. borrower-end, admin-end, RFID-end.
