Intelligent Surveillance System is one of the fastest growing markets in the field of security technologies. However, the existing video surveillance systems are less accurate and requires more time to detect due to algorithmic problems. These systems either rely on human observers or has a greater delay in detecting weapon on a Realtime run and are therefore limited by factors which are fatigue and monitoring capabilities for long periods of time.

To overcome these problems, it is necessary to have “improved intelligent” processes which can highlight the salient data and filter out normal conditions that do not possess any threat to security. Without or with minimum human participation, Improved Intelligent surveillance system can evaluate picture, video or other types of surveillance data at a higher speed and efficiency.

Project Objectives

The objectives of Project is following:

Project Implementation Method

We can achieve these objectives with the help of machine learning. Using Yolo as learning algorithm we can train a model on “Weapon Detection” and “Activity Detection” that will detect if any weapon or suspicious activity happen in real time. For making this Stand-Alone System we will implement it on Raspberry Pi using NCS as Hardware Accelerator so that it gives its optimum performance 24/7.

  3. Less manpower will be required for Surveillance and CCTV monitoring.
  4. It will provide security within shopping centre and malls.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This project will be implemented on Raspberry Pi with the Help of NCS (serves as TPU ). This will make it Stand-Alone system that will keep operate 24/7 without any man-power need. So this will ultimately increase the security level.
