Project Summary

Pukaar is basically a mobile application which is based on the idea of an integeration between a customer and a mechanic. This project lies in the domain of Transportation and public service sector. By using this app, a customer can call a nearby car mechanic from anywhere on the road, and a mechanic from a nearby mechanic shop can move to the requesting customer by tracking customer's current location through our app. This idea is very unique and we challenged that this idea does not exist in Pakistan. This idea is solving a problem of people that faces issues in their car during travelling. They stuck on the road for long hours and cry for help. And this situation can also led to disastrous situation because in the circumstances that when your car is stuck on a blank road and no one is for you there so some dangerous things can be happen becuase you are standing alone on the road shouting for help. Our app will solve that problemvby helping those people so they can user our app and call a mechanic right on the spot and mechanic will reach out at their place in few minutes by tracking their current location. 

Project Objectives

• Currently, there is not an easy way to connect with mechanics/towing personnel in case of an unforeseen mishap with an individual’s vehicle, the objective of this project is to provide a platform for users to easily connect with them.
•  Providing the user with a multitude of options based on their location from whom they can get their vehicle diagnosed from and if they want to continue they may get it repaired from them either on the spot or if unable, they may tow it to their desired location.
• The mechanic may be enabled to provide the towing service themselves as well, provided they have the available resources. ? Reaching out to mechanics and adding them to the platform thereby increasing the network of the platform.
• Increase employment opportunities for those working in blue collar jobs in the tertiary sector.
• To assist users towards the highest rated mechanics in the area that can diagnose and repair their vehicle as swiftly as possible. 

Project Implementation Method

• The project will commence by gathering the requirements.
• We will follow the agile methodology.
• We will brainstorm the UI and the UX by supplementing it with surveys taken from the stakeholders involved (mechanics and the consumers).
• Then we shall set up a backend wireframe and set the database up by conjoining the end points created after creating a basic UI creation of the application and then make a basic frontend.
• Testing will be conducted in each sprint of the agile cycle.
•  Once the first prototype has been completed, we shall host the application and continually update the UI/UX.
• Meetings with the internal advisor shall be a minimum of once biweekly, while team meetings may be conducted every alternate day. 

Benefits of the Project

A functional prototype mobile application that is able to connect a sample user to a sample mechanic and is able to accurate geo-locate the user as well as accurately tracking the movement of the mechanic towards the provided location.

The last 6 years have been significant for the tech industry of Pakistan, with IT giants like Airlift and Careem that has massively contributed to the socioeconomic welfare of the citizens, making a mark within their niche that they pioneered in Pakistan. Pukaar strives to bring a similar impact in the service industry of connecting mechanics to users in an effort to join the digitizing movement in Pakistan to make lives easier. Keeping that in view, the project meets the following SDGs:

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

1. FIGMA : A complete UI/UX of Pukaar application will be designed using figma including the use of wire framing, plugins and community feature.

2. React Native : For designing app interface and providing functionalities.

3. Map Box: For displaying map on the app, geo-locating and real-time tracking.

4. Node.js 16+: For back end

5. MongoDB v5+: For Database design
