Project Summary

    Now a days we see that how a large amount of heat and energy is wasted on the speed breakers which are placed at almost all the roads and in the streets, as the vehicles pass over it. A country like Pakistan which has very low capability of power generation and people are suffering the load shedding problems and the street lights are  in very bad condition as there is no proper and continuous source for them to glow which is the main reason of many Deadly accidents occur on daily basis. So we can tap this energy using speed breaker a power generating component and a solar panel at the corner of the road which is a support to get the required generation because the power generated from the speed breaker is not high enough to glow the street lights. It is a non conventional and pollution free source of generation. It can be placed at the high traffics roads and the generation of power is dependent onto the load of a vehicle. More the vehicle load more will be the power generation. And the current temperature of the city is a big advantage of generating more power using solar energy

Project Objectives

Project Implementation Method

While moving, the vehicles possess some kinetic energy which is wasted. This kinetic energy can be utilized to produce power by using a special arrangement called POWER HUMP. It is an Electro-Mechanical unit. It utilizes both mechanical technologies and electrical techniques for the power generation and its storage. POWER HUMP is a dome like device likely to be a speed breaker. Whenever the vehicle is allowed to pass over the dome, it gets pressed downwards. Underneath the Speed Breaker some electro-mechanical system is installed. This system takes this Potential Energy in the form of suppression from the vehicle and converts it into the Electrical Energy through their series of operation. A common part of all system is connection with the Shaft of Generator. The end operation is the rotation of this shaft to generate electricity by conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy. The conversion will be proportional to traffic density.

  4. Electricity will be generated throughout the year without depending on other factors.
