Project Title

Performance Improvement of Solar (PV) Array Topologies During Various Partial Shading Conditions.

Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject Summary

INTRODUCTION:
          >>The output power produce by photovoltaic (PV) array is reduced drastically by         partial shading effect.A photovoltaic (PV) panel operating in partial shading condition results in lowering its efficiency. However solar irradiation on a certain array may not be uniform due to partial shading caused by the shadows of (Passing clauds,Trees, near by Buildings) .In a worst-case scenario,it can create a hotspot that can eventually cause a fire hazard. To adress this issue, bypass diodes are connected across pv group in series-parallel configuration. Various array formation and reconfiguration techniques were introduced by many researchers to mitigate partial shading effects in PV array.the power  of sun light is converted into DC electricity through (PV) photovoltaic cells which usually made of semiconductor materials Pv cells are connected in different configuration to form a module of 36,60,72 cells.the output characteristics of pv arrays are depends on solar irradiations and cell temprature is the independent variable of system.power is an undisputed lifline in todays high-tech world Mass awreness drives have created significant cognizance toward sustainable and green technologies in the past quarter-century in response to the depletion of fossil fuels and volatility of energy prices.Photovoltaic(PV) based, sustainable, and grenn-technology –based power sources are in high demands due to their ability to meet industrial, commercial, and residential demands.efficiency and performance. In response ,most of the PV modules are equipped with bypass diode to minimize the effects of such issues.
>>Besides the typical SP topology, topologies such as total cross-tied(TCT),bridge link(BL),and honeycomb(HC) are being considered and analyzed in different partial shading conditions.Performance of each shading varies under different shading patterns and their performance has proven to be better than regular SP topology however each topology has advantages and disadvantages under different conditions.
