Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryChoosing a career is one of the most important decision of student’s life. Unfortunately, in under developing countries due to peer pressure, market boom, assumed social life and confusion, students choose wrong careers which leads towards the life time regret. Torch is web-based predictive platform designed for students (especially for undergraduate students). Torch has an ability to predict student's career. Not only student's academic scores but student's psychological parameters will also be considered and then after the complete analysis of student's data the career field area will be suggested to students. For prediction purpose the machine learning classifier (model) has used while the complete website has been made by using Django (Python web Framework).
Not only students, but companies, universities and other organizations are also the beneficiary of this platform. They can post their jobs and use this platform for their digital promotions. The user can access this website from any browser and after the successful registration and login the organizations will be allowed to post their jobs while for the counselling and recruitment purpose login is not mandatory.
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of this project are shown as following:
- To provide a single platform to students for career counseling.
- To provide students information about appropriate career choice with analysis report.
- To give companies / organizations an opportunity to promote themselves valuably.
Like most of the projects, when implementation occurs torch has also been divided into two main parts:
1. Front-end implementations
2. Back-end implementations
1. Front-end implementations:
Front-end of torch is complete website which is made using Django. Python language has been used and Pycharm IDE has been used.Beside this many python libraries like pillow, crispy-froms etc has used in this project. Torch is faciliting organizations (companies/universities etc) by providing them the single platform on which they can post, delete and update their jobs or any important information.
2. Back-end implementations:
For the sake of predicting career, the machine learning classifier has been used which was furthur converted into the proper model and then intergrated with website. Jupiter Notebook IDE has been used for making model. Important libraries which are used in this project are scipy, numpy, pandas, matplotlib etc. For the sake of fast training purpose of model the COLAB (virtually) has used.
Intergration of model with website has been done by using pickles.

Intermediate Students: These students can easily check the universities and their details. Through which they can easily decided which university is good to go for them.
Undergraduation Students: These students has an opportunity to check their predicted career field without any confusion and problem. Beside this they can view the available jobs and apply according to their interest. Moreover, if they are running any side business and need any type of help then they can use the portal and post their problems easily after the complete authentication process.
3. Organizations (companies / universities)
Not only for students, torch is also beneficial for companies, universities and other organizations. By using this platform they can do their digital promotions and can also displayed their ads and available vacancies, courses details etc.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableMachine learning classifier (model) has been made by using Jupter NoteBook (Python IDE) while the website has been implemented by using Django.For website the Pycharm has used. For the sake of model and website intergration the pickle method has used.The website will be accessed by using any browser. The complete torch project will be delievered in software form. No hardware has used in this project.
