Project Summary

Corona virus created a panic in all over the world which was very difficult to tackle with. Everyday a lot of people were dying and hospitals were filled with patients with no capacity to get more patients. People in very serious condition needed ventilators and many countries were going out of stock of ventilators. So we have rolled up our sleeves now to conquer this battle against corona but still we need to be prepared for any kind of emergency. In the view of being always ready, we have contributed a part in this process. We will make a smart ventilator which has the database to keep track of patients. Actually the ventilator is connected with software to operate it which makes it more efficient than other ventilators. It will be an open source ventilator in which an ambu bag will be attached with a motor compressor. This ambu bag was previously pressed manually but we will attach a motor to make it more efficient. This open source ventilator will be connected to a computer where you will see graph of patient’s pulse rate through a connected pulse sensor. In this ventilator you will use high medium and low mode in respiratory section where ventilator operate accordingly. In the same screen you will also see the oxygen intake value. Screen will show you the information of patient to be saved. You can save it in the patient’s database to use it in future. It will also show a button on the screen which will be used to play some Surah of Holy Quran. If we come to the ventilator we will see a digital oxygen intake sensor which will give all its data to software. Above this a voltmeter will be incorporated to keep track of the voltages. Keeping this in view, we will also use the battery to operate it. Along with this we also has manually controlled respiratory function which will be used to increase the air volume and speed of ventilator. Software will be completely secure and password protected.

Project Objectives

The main purpose of this ventilator is help deserving people by providing low budget economical ventilators. This will improve the economic condition of country, as Pakistan has flooded a lot of money in expensive health care. By providing low budget and economic ventilators, budget will be sufficient to allocate on other sectors.

Project Implementation Method

Project will take about 7 months to be on ground. In the first month we will work on documenting our plan and strategy regarding this project. After the first month we will research on the planned components of project. After the completion of research we will move on buying the material. During the fourth month we will conduct a market survey and during the fifth month we will work on making the hardware. After setting up the whole hard and soft structure we will test and run the machine on trial. The seventh and the final month of the project will consume our thesis on the project.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Smart ventilator will help us to treat more people by using low cost economical ventilator. It will not only help in cost cutting but will also help us to keep the record of patient’s health from its database and from live monitoring.
