Project Summary

An online blood donation database system is designed to build a database of blood donors, which will help in saving lives of those who are in need of blood, especially for thalassemia patients. It is a Web-based application that is designed to store, process, retrieve and analyze information concerned with the administrative and inventory management within a blood bank. This project aims at maintaining all the information pertaining to blood donors, different blood groups available in each blood bank and helps them manage in a better way. The present system has given rise to such limitations as poor and ineffective manually paper work of organizations or hospitals. This application system that is to be used by the hospital blood bank or blood centers as a means to advertise the nationwide blood donation events to the public in order to raise up the public awareness on the events and at the same time allows the public to make online reservation on their desired session. The inspiration of this project is to improve blood banks in Pakistan and to develop a blood bank information system which focuses on making an online system that is accessible for both donors and administrators. Donors can directly receive information regarding their previous blood donations, including their blood results and donation history, in order to easily schedule their next donations. They can also update the personal information through the system, without having to contact the blood bank registry

Project Objectives

To provide a means for the blood bank to publicize and advertise blood donation programs.

To support searching, matching and requesting for blood convenient for Administrators. 

To provide an efficient donor and blood stock management functions to the blood bank by recording the donor and blood details.

To provide a function to send an e-mail directly to the donor for their user account and hospital, the availability of the blood bag.

To maintain records of blood donors, blood donation in a database system

That person can get facilities like information about blood donation system, donors and recipients.

 This project facilitates services like direct access to the site to get donor’s information if there is an emergency.

The donor send location to patient and the patient search nearby donor by the blood group type and location.

The goal of the project is to present an online edge for bringing mutually giving blood donors and patients (blood requesters) who need blood.
