Falls and injuries in the home can bring grave secondary concerns. Not only can the initial fall, stroke or other incident be devastating, but if a senior adult lives alone, it may be hours before help arrives. Any delay in getting help can significantly worsen the situation. Therefore, to make the rescue process become easier this medical emergency alert application is designed to transmit emergency notifications to nearest hospital with real time information. This medical application helps you to remember, to take your pills on time and safely by setting alarm for your medications with ringtone facility. User can also save contact information of any 3 contacts to whom he can send alert notifications/messages in case of any emergency. These contact numbers are also editable, so the user can add or delete contact numbers as per user requirement. Additionally, the user alert history are also stored and can be accessed by the user and admin. It also facilitates the user to search information of some specified diseases. Apart from this the users can search for pills for their health related problems by selecting symptoms.

Project Objectives

The objectives of this medical emergency alert application are discussed below:

1. To create an efficient application to send alert notifications to nearest hospitals in case of any medical emergency with real-time location.

2. To make rescue response time more effective.

3. To save contact information of any 3 contacts to whom user can send alert messages in case of emergency.

4. To set reminder for the users to make them remind when they must take their medicines.

5. To provide information on specific diseases, their symptoms and treatments.

6. To search for prescribed medicines by the doctors in case of instant medicine need. 

Project Implementation Method

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Requirements are gathered, analyzed and prioritized based on the needs of the users and the goals of the project. SRS is designed at this phase.
2. Planning: Team members are informed about the whole modules of the project, initial requirements are discussed and formulated. There are only initial requirements, which are likely to change as the process evolves. Tasks are divided among the team members with specified dates to complete those tasks.
3. Design: At this phase, the SDD document is designed with complete details of the application's design and the interface design of the application is created. There are initial requirements, which are likely to change as the process evolves.
4.  Implementation or coding:  For the implementation of the project the tool being used is "ANDROID STUDIO" with an emulator and programming language (JAVA & XML).
5. Testing: Test cases are designed to perform the thorough testing of the whole developed application.
6. Deployment: After the development of application and complete testing the final product is delivered to public and hospital admins for use.

The chosen methodology for our project's implementation method is "AGILE", the reason of choosing Agile methodology is its ability to respond to issues/changes as they arise throughout the course of project. Also, Integration of modules can take place continually and then task is integrated into the current version of the product.

• The main purpose of turning your Mobile device into a medical alert system is to acquire a special application so, when an emergency happens you can navigate to the application then click an alert button to summon help.
• By setting reminder for medicine, users will be able to take their medicines on time with no delay.
• In time of need users can contact to their closed ones, can find information on specified diseases and search for recommended pills.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable will be in the form of an Android application named as "MEDCARE".
