Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject SummaryAmong the emerging technologies, Augmented Reality(AR) is driving the e-commerce industry to the wide horizon. As technology evolves, so does the way brands connect with consumers. Augmented reality (AR) is quickly becoming one of the biggest game-changers for businesses, profoundly transforming brand engagement.
To create these compelling and powerful customer-centric experiences, AR doesn’t act alone. The underlying technology that makes the new dimensions and immersive experiences possible is artificial intelligence (AI). The power of AI + ARAI is at the heart of AR platforms, making the two well-positioned to sync on a variety of applications. AI is the key to enabling AR to interact with the physical environment in a multidimensional way. Object recognition and tracking, gestural input, eye tracking, and voice command recognition combine to let you manipulate 2D and 3D objects in virtual space with your hands, eyes, and words.
AI enables capabilities like real-world object tagging, enabling an AR system to predict the appropriate interface for a person in a given virtual environment. Through these and other possibilities, AI enhances AR to create a multidimensional and responsive virtual experience that can bring people new levels of insight and creativity.
Using AR in e-commerce has rapidly attracted the customer interest by enhancing their experience. In this proposal we propose an AR service platform that can connect both stakeholders( i.e. ecommerce businesses and their customers). We will be developing a web-based application for the e-commerce businesses to register themselves and provide and host 3D models relevant to their products marketed online and a mobile application for their customers to preview and interact with those models.
Project ObjectivesImplementation of marker less 3D model Augmentation.
In onine purchasing, our first priority is to satisfy customers before purchasing(through different techiques like snapfeet, your gestureal input etc)
One of our main objectives of this project is to research and development of amarker less Augmented Reality application that requires no external devices ormarkers to Augmented the models.
Implementation of a web service to connect the e-commerce website with theAR platform.
Another main objective is to develop a web service which can be integrated to thee-commerce website to connect their product model to the product item they aremarketing
Project Implementation Methodthe Way to implement the method.firstly we create a 3D model of any Acessories like furniture,Dress,Shoes,NAcklace etc. then we will talk about furniture it will create a 3D resolution through ignite and Artificial Intelligence of different method like gesturing,AI enables capabilities like real-world object tagging, enabling an AR system to predict the appropriate interface for a person in a given virtual environment. Through these and other possibilities, AI enhances AR to create a multidimensional and responsive virtual experience that can bring people new levels of insight and creativity.
The result is mixed reality in a single physical environment — seeing that sofa in your living room before you click “Buy.” Through examples like this, AI can interpret and enable AR platforms to act on real-time, real-world environments. The end result is more relevant, and delivers more immersive experiences that delight and enlighten the customer journey

Benefits of the ProjectThe Benefits of Smart Shopping:How AR Is Shopping E-Commerce:
- Redefining “try before you buy”
The latest AR technology has led to new paths for consumer interaction and pre-purchase experiences. Recently, furniture retailer IKEA tapped into ARKit to create IKEA Place, an iPhone/iPad app that lets users virtually place furniture in their homes. By taking this try-before-you-buy approach, potential buyers can see these large items in their intended spot before making a major purchase — a purchase that would be hard if not impossible to return.
- Increasing the impact
The art world has begun exploring AR, reimagining both how artists create and how audiences experience and appreciate art, transforming viewers’ experiences. “These kinds of wordless, playful experiences can have a tremendous impact, “It somehow serves to cement the experiences and bring them closer to the artwork in ways that words can’t.”
- Engaging Customer Experience:
Augmented reality technology grants customers who typically shop online, the chance to view the product in the form of a model they can interact with in the same manner they would if they were visiting a physical store. This gives the customers a better feel of the product and how it fits into their lives. According to reports, 71% of consumers said they would shop with an online retailer more frequently if they offered AR. 61% said they would prefer to buy from sites that offer AR over sites that do not.
- Customized Shopping:
Most buyers like to explore numerous choices and preferences before making a purchase. With AR eCommerce, customers can now experience this virtually from the comfort of their homes. Customizations involving colors, designs, patterns and much more can be explored with augmented reality without the use of an app.
- Shopping Time and Testing:
Today, most online stores offer instructional video on several products in order to help the buyer understand the product. With augmented reality not only can they interact with the product, they can explore its functionalities as well. Typically, an average online shopper spends roughly 2 mins online before making a purchase decision, but with an AR eCommerce experience, that dwell time increases and so does the likelihood of them completing a purchase.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableARCore:
ARCore is a platform developed by Google for building augmented reality experiences.
Using different APIs, ARCore enables your mobile phone to sense its environment, understand the world and interact with information. Some of the APIs are availableacross both Android and IOS to enable shared AR experiences.
TensorFlow:
TensorFlow is an open source software library originally developed by researchers andengineers of Google Brain team within Google’s AI organization, for high performancenumerical computation. It’s flexible architecture allows easy development of computationacross a variety of platforms such as CPUs, GPUs, TPUs, and from desktop to clusters ofservers to mobile and edge devices. It has a strong support for machine learning and deeplearning. Google's TensorFlow is the most widely used machine learning library.
Keras:
Keras is a high-level neural network API, written in Python and capable ofrunning on top of TensorFlow. It was developed with the focus on enabling fastexperimentation
ML Kit:
ML Kit is a mobile SDK that brings Google's machine learning expertise toAndroid and iOS apps in a powerful yet easy-to-use package. ML Kit providesconvenient APIs that allows us to use our own custom TensorFlow models inmobile apps.
Artificial intelligence:
To create these compelling and powerful customer-centric experiences, AR doesn’t act alone. The underlying technology that makes the new dimensions and immersive experiences possible is artificial intelligence (AI).in many different apps functionality of AI used in many like a shoes(snapfeets),for makr over, hair dying(loreal)etc.
Mobile application:
• Marker less tracking using ML.
? Augmentation of the 3D models.
? Live streaming of the augmentation.
Web application:
? E-commerce business details management portal.
? 3D models related details management portal and hosting of them.
? QR code generation for the mobile application to download the model from cloudstorage.
? Generation of a dynamic link for each specific product of the respective e-commercewebsite, in order to connect the ecommerce website with the AR platform.
