This proposal for online course Management and Examination system is partial fulfillment of the requirements to graduate in honors degree in Bachelor of Science (Computer Sciences).

This proposal provides the scope and context of the project to be undertaken. It details the intended user group and the value that the system will have to them. It also provides a schedule for the completion of the project, including a list of all the deliverables and presentations required.

The intended viewers of this document are the graduate faculty of the department so that they can determine whether the project should be approved as proposed, approved with modifications.

                It is expected that this proposal will be presented to the Head of Department of 

              Computer Science Department and Head of Project Approval Committee before 

              Project is formally started.

Project Objectives

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, and training content.

LMSs range from systems for managing training and educational records, to software for distributing courses over the Internet with features for online collaboration. Corporate training use LMSs to automate record-keeping and employee registration. Student self-service (e.g., self-registration on instructor-led training), training workflow (e.g., user notification, manager approval, wait-list management), the provision of on-line learning (e.g., Computer-Based Training, read & understand), on-line assessment, management of continuous professional education (CPE), collaborative learning (e.g., application sharing, discussion threads), and training resource management (e.g., instructors, facilities, equipment), are dimensions to Learning Management Systems.

                     Some LMSs are Web-based to facilitate access to learning content and administration.              

                                    It is also used by educational institutions to enhance and 

              Support classroom teaching and offering courses to a larger population of learners 

                                    Across the globe.

Project Implementation Method

      It is possible that since our review was restricted to specific databases, educational articles from other sources may have been omitted. The inclusion of more databases during the search process could have increased the number of articles that met the search criteria. In addition, the databases used in this review are outside the control of the authors in terms of the publications they have access to, their search algorithms, and their currency. Accordingly, the articles retrieved in this review are dependent on how each database executes the search query. Another limitation is the search restriction of English-only publications from prominent English language databases. Expanding the search to include Chinese language and mainland China databases could have further enriched this review.

Benefits of the Project

We are going to make online Course management and examination system. This is a web

based application. To do so we are going to use a different approach. It is not an easy

system to develop. It requires a huge amount of resources to design and develop a good

online course management and examination system. So we will take a model as an

example of open source Online Course management and examination system from

different websites.
