IR Remote Decoder

Arduino uno R3: Microcontroller board based on a removable, dual- line- package (DIP). ATmega328 AVR microcontroller. It has 20 digital input/ output pins of which 6 cam be used as PWM output and 6 can be loaded to it from the easy to use Arduino computer program.

Project Summary

  • Every digit/ button of IR remote have identity number. 
  • This is given by microcontroller into remote control and transmitted through IR led. 
  • This data is in the form of 0 and 1.
  • To understand the data in hex format, we need to capture it and decode using microcontroller. 
  • We will capture this data using IR receiver ( TSOP1738) and decode the data using ATmega328p Arduino. 

Project Objectives

Arduino uno R3:

Microcontroller board based on a removable, dual- line- package (DIP). ATmega328 AVR microcontroller. It has 20 digital input/ output pins of which 6 cam be used as PWM output and 6 can be loaded to it from the easy to use Arduino computer program. 

Ir remote decoder is used to decode the coded value of ir remote. 

Project Implementation Method

I think the solo project is not valuable, we can decode the data and make different project using these decoded values. Like:

A remote clone, which not exactly looks like a remote to a lay man.

RC car using Arduino and IR remote.

Benefits of the Project

We can decode any number of IR remote present im the form 0 and 1 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Features of Arduino uno R3:

  • The operating Voltage is 5v.
  • The recommended input voltage will range from 7v to 12v.
  • The input voltage ranges from 6v to 20v.
  • Digital input/ output pins are 14.
  • Analog i/p pins are 6.
  • Dc current for each input/ output pin is 40 mA. 
  • Dc current for 3.3v pin is 50mA.
  • Flash memory is 32 kb. 
  • SRAM is 2 kb. 
  • EEPROM is 1kb.
  • Clk speed is 16MHz.

Decode the invisible data transmitting from an IR remote control handset under test in a preceivable notion suitable for further experimentation.
