This project is about to life saving who work in the mines. In the coal mines lots of major accidents occur during minning and sometimes its very dangerous and people who worked there , lost their lives.So we are creating a system which will be use to save their lives. This system consist of some sensors, raspberry pie , Zigbee and GSM.

Our project aim is to develop a strong safety system for the people who are working in the coal mines. sensorswill observe the change in envirronment parameters, and they will give the information to Raspberry pie. then Raspberry pie will verify if any of the value exceeds beyond threshold value it will alert the person through the buzzer and fan will be ON for
ventilation. This information is passed to the base station through the Zigbee and GSM.

Project Objectives

The objectives of this project
? To develop a system that detect gases and other fatality factors to preventing from big incidents.
? To design an application  that will  show the values of gases detected by different sensors on a ground base station.
? To maintain the continuity of the communication system is very much important to know what’s going inside the coal mines.
? Avoid loss of material and damaging of human health.

Project Implementation Method

Some of the Hardware we are using in this project are:

1) RASPBERRY PIE:

The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers.

2) ZIGBEE MODULE:

ZigBee is designed for devices which require simple wireless networking and don't need high data transfer rate.

3) GSM

A GSM module or a GPRS module is a chip or circuit that will be used to establish communication between a mobile device or a computing machine and a GSM or GPRS system.

4) POWER BANK:

Power banks can be defined as portable batteries that use circuitry to control any power in and power out.

5) JUMPER WIRES AND BREADBOARD:

A breadboard is used to build and test circuits quickly before finalizing any circuit design.

6)  MQ2 SENSOR:

Gas Sensor (MQ2) detects combustible gasses and smoke.

7) MQ7 SENSOR:

MQ-7 is a Carbon Monoxide (CO) sensor, suitable for sensing Carbon Monoxide concentrations(PPM) in the air.

8) TEMPERATURE SENSOR LM35 TO92:

LM35 is a precession Integrated circuit Temperature sensor, whose output voltage varies, based on the temperature around it.

9) HUMIDITY SENSORS DHT11:

The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost humidity sensor.

10) HC-SR501IR PIR MOTION DETECTOR:

The module features adjustable sensitivity that allows for a motion detection range from 3 meters to 7 meters.

11) BUZZER:

An electrical device that makes a buzzing noise and is used for signalling.

13) FAN AND LED DISPLAY

IMPLEMENTATION:

We will integrate all the sensors to raspberry pie and with raspberry pie we will connect Zigbee (end device ) , through power bank we will give current. Whenever the sensor detect gases exceeding their threshold value will give signal to Raspberry pie. Raspberry will then ON the buzzer to alert all the worker working in the underground coal mines. To pass the signal from underground level to ground base station we are using Zigbee (router) that will recevies the signal from zigbee(end device) and send signal to Zigbee (co-ordinator).

Zigbee(co-ordinator) with connect with rasbperry pir and GSM module. GSM module will send msg to all the mobile. We will build Iot based application that will allow administartor staff to control underground system e.g OFF the Buzzer  and ON the ventilation fans.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The output of project is to send the message on mobile based on IoT and siren will be ON after exceed threshhold value of fatility accidents
