IoT based real time Bus Tracking System
The most precious task of this era is to save time. Though technology is traveling with the required pace. But we humans are still lagging behind due to lack of advancements and upgradations of our systems. One of such problems, which waste most of our time, is to wait for the busses at the bus stop for hours and hours. To overcome this issue, we will design a real time bus tracking system with the help of existing a Global positioning system (GPS) technology which will provide us exact location of the busses. Earlier it was hard to travel to a new city without a paper map and tourist guidebook. But with the recent advancement in mobile technology provides a variety of real-time Location based Services (LBS). Among all those services, GPS navigation and location tracking are the most popular applications on mobile devices due to the usefulness and popularity during a trip. The very basic understanding of a Global positioning system is to provide velocity, location and time synchronization with a reference point. Our solo aim is to design and implement a GPS tracking system in Sukkur IBA University Shuttles and track their exact location, speed and estimated time for arrival and that of departure with reference to subject location and with the location of other busses.
Basically, there are three main objectives of the project: • Developing a user-friendly application which can provide, time, location, speed, route, and estimated arrival of the shuttle in real time. • Developing a safe communicating medium between shuttle to shuttle, and between shuttle to student. • Successful Implementation of the GPS in the busses and tracking them through the use of smartphone-based application. • Administration may know the location of driver through application.
In order to achieve the goal. We are planning to implement our project as described in the following steps: Step-1: design and implement phone-based piece of hardware with GPS and internet connection Step-2. Design a smart phone application to designed hardware to access its location in real time. Step-3. To register and provide location information to students and its officials.
The benefit of the project is to trace the location of bus while using smart phone. It is beneficial not only for the students of IBA University living in hostels and homes but also for this University in regards of any unforeseen problem or delay in arrival of the bus at its desired location.
actually we are tracking the bus through GPS with the helpp of Application .it is installed in users cellphone where they can see the live location of Bus with the help of GPS there is condition GPS and application should connected with internet so they can communicate through satelite.
