To overcome this situation people are finding various energy efficient resources. Among them, power is the main concern which needs to be monitored. With the rise in power consumption in every part of the world there is a subsequent rise in power theft and over usage of power. This is a serious problem which is being faced by the power utilities. In this project, a working model will be designed which aims to monitor power consumption of a particular area or sector. The designed model monitors the power consumption of the end users and cut off the power supply when it exceeds the set limit. The device sends the power consumption data to the supplier using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
The aim of this research work is to measure and analyze power consumption using Smart Meter data by conducting case study on various households. In addition of saving electricity, Smart Meter data illustrates the behavior of consumers in using devices. As power consumption is increasing day by day there should be more focus on understanding consumption patterns i.e. measurement and analysis of consumption over time is required.

Project Implementation MethodIn the first two months, we will be doing literature review and then we will design a prototype in 8months. After this, we will make it sustainable and along with it, we will be working on project report and final presentations.

In this project, the factors that impact the powermanagement of IoT systems have been mentioned along withthe limitations of currently used power sourcesin IoT. While providing the literature review, the associatedproblems and the approached power management techniques for improving the performance and robustness of an IoT design are outlined. Tools like Source Measure Units, DC power Analyzers and Digital Multimeters help understandpower consumption patterns. Online designtools for designing power solutions can also be put to use with the future scope of wireless technology into play, consolidating a system using wires will soon be obsolete, sowireless power transfer is critical. This helps to extend andachieve the most outthe solutions supporting reducedoverheadsand enhanced efficiency to attain consistentperformance in IoT solutions.
