IOT based Biofloc System For Monitoring and Controlling Commercial Fishing pound
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary- BFT is considered the new “blue revolution” since nutrients can be continuously recycled and reused in the culture medium, benefited by the minimum or zero-water exchange. Also, the sustainable approach of such system is based on the high production of fish/shrimp in small areas. In addition, the bioflocs is a rich protein-lipid natural source of food available in situ 24 hours per day due to a complex interaction between organic matter, physical substrate, and large range of microorganisms. This natural productivity plays an important role recycling nutrients and maintaining the water quality. The consumption of biofloc by shrimp or fish has demonstrated innumerous benefits such as improvement of growth rate, decrease of FCR, and associated costs in feed
- The aggregates (bioflocs) are a rich protein-lipid natural source of food available in situ 24 hours per day due to a complex interaction between organic matter, physical substrate, and large range of microorganisms. This natural productivity plays an important role recycling nutrients and maintaining the water quality.
- In a world where more than 800 million people continue suffering from chronic malnourishment and where the global population is expected to grow by another 2 billion to reach 9.6 billion people by 2050.
- it is important to meet the huge challenge of feeding our planet while safeguarding its natural resources for future generations.
- On the other hand, global aquaculture has yet to face some serious challenges. For instance, aquaculture has been accused of being an unsustainable activity, because of the effluents discharged to the environment which contain excess of organic matter, nitrogenous compounds, toxic metabolites, and elevated rates of chemical and biochemical oxygen demands.
- Our AIM is to reduce the poverty and make an economical and to use home based business for women’s and as wel as children to grow with our society and make our economical condition in this modern competitive eran.
- Biofloc fish farming requires few Biofloc Technology tools and a water tank which need to be at least 12 by 12 feet. The total cost for 500 fish species is given as follows:
- A 13 by 13 feet Tank will used to store water.
- A motor connected with 2 solar plates which can induct air in the water tank as an essential part of Biofloc technology BFT
- BFT equipment and water quality testing kit used for better production
- The rest is the operations depending on where you stating this project. Like if an individual is starting it in his/her home, this operational cost will be just insignificant in comparison to taking it out of the home. One tank of 13 by 13 feet is enough to make your project commercialize
- Biofloc is an eco-friendly culture system.
- Biofloc system reduces environmental impact.
- Efficiently improves land and water use efficiency.
- Limited or zero water exchange.
- Productivity will be high (It enhances survival rate, growth performance, feed conversion in the culture systems of fish).
- Higher biosecurity.
- Reduces water pollution and the risk of introduction and spread of pathogens.
- Cost-effective feed production.
- It reduces the use of protein-rich feed and the cost of standard feed.
- Biofloc system reduces the pressure on capture fisheries that means the use of cheaper food fish and trash fish for fish feed formulation.
this Profitable Method of Fish Farming or Biofloc Farming cuts all the major costs so that the savings can be really big. Several factors such as Huge operational costs, cost of vast lands, high costs of feeding, disposal and discharge of waste sludge will not be problems when your opt for this method.
In Aquaculture, the major cost is due to feeding ingredients for fishes. When fishes are fed with high protein diets, approximately 70% of it is discharged as waste in surrounding culture water in the form of nitrogen. With biofloc, we can recycle this waste into feed again reducing the expense of high protein feeds. Biofloc systems also reduces the spread of pathogens while also improving the fish health
