During the last decade, hybrid electric vehicles have come on the market and new techniques have been dramatically advanced and widely used. Hybrid electric vehicles, combining the internal combustion engine with one or more motors for propulsion. In series hybrid vehicle, the propulsion power comes from the electric motor which converts the electrical energy to mechanical energy, while the motor can be powered by the generator. In parallel hybrid, the vehicle can be powered by either the engine or the electric motor. The main idea of the electric vehicle is to reduce the engine size and power for fuel consumption and meet the necessary energy from the carbon-free energy sources like fuel cells. Nevertheless the power is transferred by electrically instead of mechanically from energy sources to the wheels to reduce the loss of energy. The main objective is to control the speed of non-linear hybrid electric vehicle by controlling the throttle position. Proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controller is used to control the speed. In HEV, the battery alone provides power for low-speed driving conditions where internal combustion engines are least efficient. In accelerating, passing, or hill climbing where high power is required battery provides power to electric motor as an additional power to assist the engine. This allows a smaller, more efficient engine to be used. The integrated intelligent controller will be developed based on traffic congestion. The main objective of this project is also to develop a predictive optimized control strategy based on traffic condition prediction for minimizing fuel consumption and emissions.

In this project , the main purpose is to design a self controller to control the hybrid vehicle. In this method we use two cameras, the main purpose of these cameras is to provide input to the controller. This will provide information to the controller about the condition of the road or surface on which vehicle is moving and other camera will provide information the controller about the congestion level on the road. After receiving input from the cameras, the controller will perform specific actions like increasing or deceasing the speed of vehicle. If camera sends information that surface is rough or hard then controller will perform necessary actions as output(either increase the speed of vehicle or to vary the position of throttle valve) to tackle the situation. If camera sends information that road is empty then controller will perform action accordingly. There are two stages in this process, in the first stage we will  provide input to the controller  then the next stage is to control the behavior or output of the controller depending upon the inputs.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

we are trying to make a hybrid car and trying to control its fuel effieciency by using two types of input sources. To design and implement intelligence self controller, Surface detection, Congestion level. Firstly, we control the speed of motor then we control the throttle position. By using camera ,it senses the surface detection and congestion due to which control the speed and position of car. Further, we will design the artificial controller which handles the tackles of surface and congestion. It is the main part of the project.
