The structure will comprise of four chambers two atrium and two ventricles. It will be 3D printed structure having bladders of a medical-grade material for storing blood. Two medical-grade pumps wills be used for pumping the blood into and out of the bladder. The main objective is to mimic the functionality of the human heart.

Benefits of the Project

The aim is to design an artificial heart prototype. The working model can be used as a bypass device while heart surgeries are performed.

The prototype can be further enhanced and can be used for clinical trials.
