Project Title

Industrial Robotic Arm

Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject Summary

Our final year project will be a 6 degree-of-freedom robotic arm aimed at being able to automate repetitive industrial tasks such as picking and placing, palletizing, and inspection while being able to adapt to different situations such as welding, soldering, CNC, etc, through the usage of an interchangeable tool head.
The initial design and prototyping will keep in mind the goal to commercialize this project as a locally produced industrial product within the next five years. Our group seeks to initiate a startup focused on improving the industrial sector of Pakistan through the use of automation and Industry 4.0/5.0 techniques. To showcase this resolve, our project will keep factors like IoT and remote automation in our scope and go through the necessary initial phase of finalizing our initial product design. We will focus on using rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and acrylic manufacturing, as well as simulation software like MATLAB, LabView, and Onshape.
At the end of our project, we hope to have a fully functional robotic arm, complete with its own specification datasheet, a 3 kg payload, approximately a meter in fully extended length, and its own user-friendly software to interact, program and automate the robot through.
