The objective of our project is to analyze the power quality in hvdc link. we did litereture survey of hvdc link ,we studied many of research papers and thesis written by different writers on hvdc link. After the completion of literature review we visited hvdc link in Matyari Lahore.

Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe objective of our project is to analyze the power quality in hvdc link. we did litereture survey of hvdc link ,we studied many of research papers and thesis written by different writers on hvdc link. After the completion of literature review we visited hvdc link in Matyari Lahore. It is an 878km-long with 660kV high voltage direct current transmission line constructed under the frame of CPEC. The visit was arranged by the NEPRA.The visit was made to make us able to know more about HVDC technologyThe visit increased knowledge about the HVDC technology. Now after the completiong of visit and collection of data we are working on Simulation modeling of the whole conversion process. The main objective is to create a prototype of HVDC link
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of this project are :
- To analyze the power Quality in HVDC link.
- To improve the power efficiency of the HVDC link.
- To study Harmonic in HVDC Link..
All the objectives are made by acknowledging the previously work done on this project by different engineers.
The process of implementation is described in points below:
- We visited HVDC-HVAC link.
- Designing the simulink model of HVDC link on Matlab.
- Setting up the prototype model.
The above three steps representing the major steps would be taken while working on project.
This project contain alot of significances as the world is working on HVDC transmission .As it is highly appreciated over HVAC transmission because it reduce loses and power efficiency of HVDC transmission is much more better than HVAC transmission. So if we go towards the benefits it would be a big change in the world of power if we convert the whole transmission from HVAC to HVDC.
The major benifits of HVDC transmission are:
- Reduce the conductor size,cost.
- Improve the efficency of transmission.
- No raditation and induction losses.
- Fast Fault clearing time.
- Asynchronous operation is possible between regions having different electrical parameters.
There are many other advantages we have in hn HVDC transmission over HVAC transmission.So the only the conversion process of HVAC to HVDC needs some modification for which we wil be working on this project
The prototype model of HVDC link will be the dilverable of our project.The model will be describing all the technical values of project and describing the project with briefly detail to make it understandable for anyone
