According to the World Bank Data, in Pakistan, about 2 million people get admission to universities or higher education institutes. Every year, a large number of candidates fail to secure admission due to a lack of knowledge. One university may have a large number of applicants but another university with the same programs may have very few applicants. The information-sharing will help to match the prospective candidates with the universities where they are seeking admission in a specific program.
Despite the fact that there are a number of admission solutions exist with universities as well as off the shelf. However, this system will have the following innovative features.
- An Artificial Intelligence-based module will help to automatically apply seat adjustment.
- The system will provide suggestions for the improvement in the admission of universities.
- Centralized repository for consolidated data across the universities.
- To develop an online admission system to automatically adjust the available number of seats against each program in the university according to the available candidates
- To facilitate the Universities with a paperless admission system from admission to the final merit list
- To provide real-time data to the governmental organizations about the universities and higher education institutes.
The software will have the following phase wise implementation plan.
- The initial version will be launched as a software service on a website.
- The software will be tested in a real environment at Bacha Khan University Charsadda for admission
- The software will be reevaluated and improved based on the feedback
- The software access will be provided to the partner institutes/universities to open it to all public.
The benefit of this software is threefold i.e.
1) Benefits for the students.
The student will have a centralized repository about the admission of all partner universities and their programs. They will be able to apply to any university with a single click if they are eligible. They will be notified if there is a chance for admission to their program of choice at any university.
2) Benefit to the university
The university will get a paperless admission system i.e. from candidates applying to the final merit list to the admission fee challan generation. The university will have control at the program level.
3) Benefits of the Higher Education Commission
The centralizing monitoring body such as Education Department / Ministry / HEC or any other organization will have access to real-time data. The real-time data will help in better strategic planning as compared to statistical estimation.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final software will be launched as a service over a website. The partner universities will give access to their specific module. The partner institutions will be able to deal with their own data at the department and program levels.
