the wheelchair movement is controlled via knob, buttons and voice. Chat can also be done between caretaker and patient..
Project ObjectivesOur objective is to provide a system for people who are handicapped, ones who are not able to move freely and especially for elderly people. Thus our motive is to evaluate the patient’s health along with wheelchair state and to notify on the mobile app so that they can be helped on time. We have come up with IOT fall detection and health monitoring system which include heartbeat/pulse-rate, temperature and distance travelled. There do exist smart wheelchairs but provided in separate modules; our focus and goal is to deliver all into one with addition to IoT based where no single product currently offers. The wheelchair can be controlled manually through knob and through android application by both voice and buttons. Other than this caretaker and patient can communicate each other via text and voice chat.
Project Implementation MethodAccelerometer is used for fall or tilt detection with buzzer attached as well. for health monitoring Temperature sensor and pulse rate sensor is used. The sensor data is sent to firebase and in case of critical condition notification is generated. we have used wifi module for this. Bluetooth module is used for movement of wheelchair to integrate with android application.
Benefits of the ProjectBenefit of this system is for people who are handicapped, ones who are not able to move freely and especially for elderly people. We can help patient before time and they are monitored regularly.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFor final deliverable our project report along with prototype of wheelchair with sensors like accelerometer, pulse rate sensor, temperature sensor, ultrasonic sensor, motor driver etc will be done. the hardware will be integrated with software that is android application via firebase.
