People's lives becoming busier and more hectic, so people are looking for help with odd jobs around their homes, like changing light fittings, or putting up shelves. People can do the handymen services at their own but it will cost them a lot of time either they also don’t have enough skills and tools to do the job. Especially when people travel to different areas then there they will face the difficulty to find handymen, also the available handymen are in different areas and they are differ in cost, another problem that customer face is determining the quality of services that is provided by these handymen. The on-demand platform idea is used to provide personalized home services that comprise a long list of tasks including home cleaning service, home repair services, lawn care, and tech troubleshooting among others. Handymen offer a mobile application for home service business owner, service provider and your customers to easily manage operations on one platform. The proposed app will brings on demand home services under one roof by connecting handymen with customers online. The user of the application can hire skilled handymen near his/her location for any of the services. The proposed application will utilize all above mention services at user convenience. The registration of our proposed application is simple and services can be booked at any time, any day. So the users can get services done at their door step. The handymen work history will determine the quality of service. It also serves to meet the growing need for on demand handyman services by easing and fastening the process of acquiring handymen. The proposed model is a mobile application for locating handyman services within a locality to help in streamlining this process and provide a structured approach for determining location and quality of service to be provided by the handymen. The application will be developed in android operating system because of its popularity among many mobile users.         

Project Objectives

>The proposed application will use OTP (One Time Password) verification which will help the users to sign up easily through their mobile number.

>For the security purpose, handymen will have to provide the police certification and a national id card during profile registration which will get verified by the admin.

>The proposed application revolves around the idea of providing benefit to skilled labors by providing them with flexible schedule.

>To save time consumed in market to find a reliable handymen.

>Handymen application will provide the option of  ‘Wallet’ for online payments

>There will be an option for setting availability status by the Handymen so he/she can choose the working hour at their ease.

>In case of any dispute between customer and handymen there will be option of conflict resolution, Admin will look after the conflicts

>Handymen and customer can rate and review each other based on project completion

Project Implementation Method

The first thing we need while implementing our project is a system having Android Studio, Database, good Internet. Using the android studio we will create Activity classes to  define, create objects of a class and a code to define XML(User Interface components), java classes are used as model e.g. if we want some thing to store into database. Adapters are used to get information and data from database. Android XML are used to create the user interface. Fire-base is a google API which we will use in order to use database and online storage. We will use Android studio for developing the three applications modules (Admin, customer, handymen). Once Admin add customer and handymen using web based Admin application. Customer will able perform his/her tasks e.g. upload job, finding handymen etc. Similarly handymen will able to view all those things like posted jobs etc. Internet is needed because our applications are hosted on internet and to store some data into database, or to view it we need internet.

Benefits of the Project

Our proposed system is developed for clients and the handyman. The proposed application will provide a communication resource between customers and handyman. It will save the time of customers as well as improve the efficiency of the work. Through an easy and quick registration 1 step, customers are able to find handymen in their country, city and area, post job request, receive bids from handymen in their area, hire their preferred choice, rate and review handymen.

Handymen application will provide job opportunities. Customer doesn’t need to struggle in order to find the right person to accomplish a particular task. The proposed application revolves around the idea of providing benefit to skilled labors as well as it would be helpful for the people in need. Handymen are able to create their profile, list their skills, bid on customer jobs, make money by getting hired, and rate and review customers based on project completion. Handymen are categorized across the website based on skill/service such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters and much more.

This application will allow the user to contact their nearest service helper or resource available to solve the problem. It will help skilled people in making their schedule more flexible by choosing their own working hours. Handymen will send instant notification to user device along with an email to update job/status
