Gesture Based Wheel Chair Control for Disabled People
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryGesture Based Wheel Chair Control for Disabled People
“It is a systematic wheel chair that works on your hand movements. Sensors are attached to the hand grip and wheel chair, it works on your hand movement when you rotate your hand the wheel chair will also be worked on reversed way. A battery is attached to the wheel chair as a resource of power. It make disabled people to be self dependent and go anywhere they want without relying on any other person ”.
Project Objectives•Our project will provide ease to the disabled person in free mobility and he/she can control the wheel chair not by using any remote device but by hand gestures.
•Now a person is no longer dependent upon others for need of movement in order to go anywhere of his/her chioce.
•Family will remain intact with the disabled person by using android camera app. This facility will be porvided only to android users initially.
Project Implementation MethodThere is use of microcontrollers and microprocessors to make the project feasible.
- Hardware Implementation, circuit designs of sender and reciver.
- Software implementation
- Program for motion of hand (hand gestures) using arduino.
- Programming respberry pi to receive and execute instructions at wheel chair to move.
- Integration of hardware and software together.
- This project will replace remote control device with a portable circuit .
- Cheeper then the traditional electrical wheel chair.
- It will provide an ease in the movement of the disabled person.
- By the use of camera the person will be tracked and watched over an android phone.
- Aged person can also get benefit of this project.
- This project will increase the values of knowing what IOT actually is and how it works.
- Arduino kit , accelerometer, power battery, and esp8266 module are the major components use to design sender circuit which will be made on glove so it will be easy to carry and use.
- Respberry pi 3 B with L298N H-Bridge, DC motors, Batteryand Camera will be included as main objects of receiving end.
- C and python languages will be use to make the proper working of the project.
- Android studio will be use to develop android application for camera.
- Other components use for this projects are
- PC/Laptop
- Android cellular device
- Mini Breadboard
- Jumper wires
- Wheel chair
- Glove
