Fire fighting robot
This system allows a user to control a fire fighter robot Equipped with water tank and gun remotely wirelessly for extinguishing fires. For this purposes the system uses an Rf remote for remote operation along with rf receive based microcontroller circuit for operating the robotic vehicle and water pump.. It also operates the water pump motor and pump direction motor to spray water by users commands. This allows the user to operate the robot and put off the fire by standing at a safe distance. The robot operates within a 8 meter range distance. The robot conatin GSM which genrate the meessage on mobile phone to tells the user that may have danger in the buildings. This system work in efficent way.The system less the man power they go and extinguished the fire. The system auomaticaly performed the such task.
The Project is designed to develop a fire fighting robot using RF technology for remote operation. The robotic vehicle is loaded with water tanker and a pump which is controlled over wireless communication to throw water. An 8051 series of the microcontroller is used for the desired operation. At the transmitting end using push buttons, commands are sent to the receiver to control the movement of the robot either to move forward, backward and left or right etc. At the receiving end three motors are interfaced to the microcontroller where two of them are used for the movement of the vehicle and the remaining one to position the arm of the robot. The RF transmitter acts as a RF remote control that has the advantage of adequate range (up to 200 meters) with proper antenna, while the receiver decodes before feeding it to another microcontroller to drive DC motors via motor driver IC for necessary work. A water tank along with water pump is mounted on the robot body, and its operation is carried out from the microcontroller output through an appropriate signal from the transmitting end. The whole operation is controlled by an 8051 series microcontroller. A motor driver IC is interfaced to the microcontroller through which the controller drives the motors. Further, the Project can be enhanced by interfacing it with a wireless camera so that the person controlling it can view operation of the robot remotely on a screen.
The purpose of this Project is to design, build, and implement the fire fighting robot capable of extinguishing building and basement fires and effectively replacing a firefighter in highly dangerous situations. The robot will allow for firefighters to not only put out a fire remotely, but allow rescuers to a burning building by fire and also sending notification on a user mobile to controlled the situation. We are trying to build a fast and e?cient robot, the manual work changes into automatically by done fire fighting robot. The main object to provide an efficient robot which give a quick response to the user.
Following are the major goals and objectives and actions of our proposed system:
The main purpose to build a robot for the replacment of the fire extinguisher. This study focuses on creating a prototype firefighter robot. The sensors are limited, specifically for flame. A mini pump is added to the prototype. It is also powered by an energy source which is exclusive for home safety and the motion of the robot depends on the distance from any flammable materials. The fire sensor of the prototype F2R: Firefighting Robot has a limited distance of 240cm with or without water and in action or not.The robot conation Arduino uno which help them to send the alert message to user. The Dc motor are usd to controlled the movement of the wheel. The quickly response and rescue the fireplace.
The operator will have visual feedback from the robot through the use an onboard camera with normal imaging and infrared imaging for low light situationsThe robot should be able to fully extinguish a test fire in a safe a controlled manner, while sending visual feedback to the operator. A fully functioning base station, acting as a wireless hotspot for the feedback system, should be developed and the operator should be able to fully control the robot via a remote interface. All of these goals should be met while following the size and weight constraints.
The prototype robotic system is presented, in which it consists of several sensors used for different purposes, servo motors, processors, and communication modules for exchanging data between the fire-fighter and the robotic system. The presented system consists of two parts: the robotic unit and the remote-control unit. The robotic unit carries out 4 main functions as follows: First, robotic unit navigates the terrain using inertial navigation system and distance sensors, and creates a virtual map based on the navigation information. Second, robotic unit senses the surrounding environment while moving from one point to another (for instance, the level of temperature). Third, robot consists of an alarm sensor that generates the beep. And Fourth, robotic unit sends the navigation and sensing information to the remote access unit, in order to share this information with firefighters. On the other hand, the remote-control unit receives the navigation and sensing information from robotic unit, builds a database about the environment (routes, environment conditions), and guides the firefighters to the shortest and safest route to civilians. The robotic unit communicates with the remote access unit through Wi-Fi network. The figure shows the development design of the robot design. The andriod app to control the robot.
Figure 1: Design methodology
This Project presents the design and the implementation of a fire fighting robot that moves towards the fire and pump out water to extinguish the fire. A memory can be used as to maintain logs of the fire incident. The sensors have a limited field of detection; this can affect the capability of the system. The sensor detects the fire a generate the beep. The robot tells the user about the fire by notification. The robot movement control through DC motor. The robot quickly respond when fire flame is detect through a sensor. This type of robot used in the industry by the replacement of fire extinguisher.
It is the human-sized autonomous robot capable of finding and suppressing the shipboard fires and working seamlessly with the human firefighters, It is capable of many-directional walking, balancing in the sea state conditions and traversing obstacles. It is capable of manipulating fire suppressors, It can use existing thermal shielding equipment, It is capable of autonomous navigation of the shipboard environment with an appropriate sensor suite. It can offer the fire detection, the environmental monitoring and it can present the situation awareness capabilities, It can make use of the broad range of fire suppression technologies, It is able to withstand higher heat for longer periods than the human firefighters, It works with the human firefighters, responds to the gestures and the commands. It can develop the autonomous systems for the fire safety and the damage control, It will reduce the ship’s vulnerability to damage and decrease the recovery time while significantly reducing the life cycle costs, size and weight of the future damage control systems. It is a technology that will reduce the human risks, It provides the alerts based on the detection of gases and incipient fires, It aides the humans in suppressing the fire and provide the situation awareness.
Mobile robotic firefighting systems are another type, mostly in the form of remote controlled vehicles affixed with fire suppression tools like water or foam hoses. These are capable of travelling into areas unsafe for people through an array of sensors, visual camera, IR and more technology that transmits information for navigation to a remote operator. Safety professionals and engineers are even experimenting with aerial robotics like drones for added situational awareness, and close-quarters indoor robots that can eliminate fires at close range. The following are some real-life advancements in firefighting robots that can reduce the number of injuries and fatalities caused by fire.
This chapter gives the overview about the Interface of Fire fighter robot and the Interface that it is provided to the users, what are the hardware interface of the Project and how it is communicate with the Software and what are the protocols are used to communications of hardware and software’s. By constantly detecting the fire, robot will move either left right forward or backward by estimating the distance of fire from actual position of robot where it will be physically located. It will determine the distance of fire from its actual position. Through app the status of fire extinguishment can be checked.
