The Examination Management System was developed for the educational institute to simplify the allocation of halls, seating arrangement of students and allocating staff to the examination halls. Allocation of faculty to corresponding rooms will be done by the exam coordinator in the form of word documents and excel sheets and also allocation of students to their corresponding rooms is a frantic work which will be done manually and it takes lot of time and requires man power.

The purpose of developing the Exam Management System is to automate the regular way of organizing the examinations in an educational institute and generating reports according to the examination type and time. The scope of the project is to design a web interface and it will be given to our university for future use.

Project Objectives

The main objectives of this project are:

• To Record student details
• To Maintain Attendance
• To automate student sitting arrangements
• To assign Teachers duty
• To submit Online fee for exams
• To inform about available rooms
• To generate result

Project Implementation Method

We can divide the project in different phases:

1st phase is planning:

• specification and their usage
• Selection of  tools
• Budget Management
• Activities Definition

2nd phase Analysis:

• Literature review
• Possible solutions
• Methodology Designing

3rd phase

• software design: Draw rough prototype of entire system and also draw domain model and class diagram.

4th and 5th phase:

• Implementation and testing phase, testing,  security check ,efficency and redundancy removal.

Benefits of the Project

• The proposed idea greatly reduces the human error and time consumption.
• It benefits the institute by reducing the complexity involved in the allocation of exam duty. As all the work of allocation of exam duty is automated and also faculties are allocated automatically.
• The percentage of doing mistakes will be reduced.
• All the details of student information, faculty information, exam duty allocation information are stored in the central database thus one can access the information whenever needed.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We will use different tools and technologies for this project such as:

•             C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Microsoft SQL Server etc.

The project will be implemented on a system witj following hardware specification:

• Windows 10 – 4GB RAM – 64bit Operation system – Intel® Celeron® CPU N2930 @ 1.83GHZ processor.
