As we all know, the forest is considered as one of the most important and indispensable resources, the prevention and detection of forest fire, have been researched extensively in worldwide forest fire prevention departments. The wireless sensor network technique was introduced for forest fire detection, due to the deficiencies of conventional forest fire detection in real-time and monitoring accuracy. Together with satellite monitoring, aerial patrolling and manual watching was used, so that the decision for fire-extinguishing or fire prevention can be made rightly and real-timely by related government departments.
Forests are the protectors of the earth’s ecological balance. Unfortunately, the forest fire is usually only observed when it has already spread over a large area, making its prevention difficult and even impossible at times. The result is a devastating loss and irreparable damage to the environment and atmosphere (30% of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere comes from forest fires), in addition to irreparable damage to the ecology (huge amounts of smoke and carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere). Among other terrible consequences of forest fires are long-term disastrous effects such as impacts on local weather patterns, global warming, and extinction of rare species of the flora and fauna.
ur main system for fire detection will be solely based on Wireless Sensor Networks. The wireless nodes integrate on the same printed circuit board (Arduino board or Raspberry pie), the sensors, the data processing, and wireless transceiver and they all consume power from the same battery source.
Sensing their surrounding environment and computing data is a major capability of sensors. The sensors sense physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, and humidity, as well as chemical parameters such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. A mesh network of sensors will provide us suitable data. Then we develop an android app and connect it to the mesh network of sensors. And if we vast change in readings occurs like rising in temperature, rise in the amount of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. It will send a fire alarm on our app.
As discussed above forest fires not only damage trees but also costs us environmental damage and loss of animal life. using this project we can detect fire as early as possible to reduce the losses during a fire.
it will be a prototype. Project final deliverables will be 4 wireless nodes to detect fire(Arduino boards integrated with sensors, wifi module, and its own power supply). A data web connected to a mobile application for data display and fire prediction using that data.
