Project Summary

A project E-SEHAT (Smart Healthcare System for preliminary Diagnostic and Remote Consultancy) is being proposed to provide a remote end to end health care services. People living in the remote areas will especially benefit from treatment at home and its inexpensive cost. Doctors will be able to look into the history of patients and treat accordingly. Data of patients will be utilized for the monitoring and prediction of diseases. Nutritionists will provide proper diet plan to the patients with complete daycare routine. E-SEHAT has the potential to improve diagnosis and reduce diagnostic errors. Medical insurance companies, medical laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and medical representatives can easily market their products and provide services through this system.

E-SEHAT is the delivery of health-related services and information via telecommunications technology in the support of patient care, administrative activities, and health education. The design of E-SEHAT has the potential to support the diagnostic process. In particular, by supporting the individuals involved in diagnostic process and the tasks they perform, this system may improve diagnostic performance and reduce the diagnostic errors. Thus, our proposed system is a unique solution and combination of different systems such as hospital management system, clinic management system, laboratory management system and patient/doctor management system. Also, it is the most up-to-date nutrition software for dietitians and nutritionists to manage their nutrition business. E-SEHAT takes care of the nutritional analysis of food diaries and meal plans and calculates clients' nutritional needs.

Project Objectives

E-SEHAT tends to target effciency and data management. The main drivers of our system are:

  • Data analytics: The healthcare industry constantly produces data. E-SEHAT system help gather, compile and analyze health data to help manage population health and reduce healthcare costs. Then the healthcare data analysis can improve patient care.
  • Collaborative care: Patients often need to treatments from different healthcare providers. It allows healthcare facilities to access common health records.
  • Cost control: Using digital networks to exchange healthcare data creates effciencies and cost savings. When regional markets use health information exchanges to share data, healthcare providers see reduced costs. On a smaller scale, hospitals aim for the same effciencies with electronic health records
  • Population health management: Health information systems can aggregate patient data, analyze it and identify trends in populations. The technology also works in reverse. Clinical decision support systems can use big data to help diagnose individual patients and treat them.                                     

 2. Research Objectives:

Every patient is different in the way the diseases manifests and also in response to treatment. An effective treatment for 90% of population may not work for other 10. Thus, medicine is said to be inherently experimental. Even the most widely accepted treatments need to be monitored and evaluated to determine whether they are effective for specfic patients or for patients in general. This is one of the functions of medical research. Even the best proven prophylactic, diagnostic, therapeutic methods must continuously be challenged through research for their efficacy, accessibility and quality.
Another function is the development of new treatments, especially new investigational drugs, medical devices and surgical techniques. In other words, the purpose of medical research involving human subjects is to improve prophylactic, diagnostic, therapeutic procedures and understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of the diseases.

3. Academic Objectives:

Develop and refine the basic skills required to provide effective and efficient primary care. Acquire basic knowledge of pathogenesis, diagnosis and management of common medical conditions in the patient. E-SEHAT could be focused more directly on meaningful outcomes, reducing the number of irrelevant tests and treatments. The role of patients within clinician-patient relationships would be elevated, strengthening therapeutic relationships. Reframing health in terms of health-related goals and directing the system to help people achieve them, could both improve quality and reduce costs. In the process, it could also make healthcare less mechanical and more humane.

Project Implementation Method

We will use Prototype Model in the development of our proposed system. In this technique a prototype is built, tested and then reworked as necessary until an acceptable outcome is achieved from which the complete system or product can be developed.

First of all, we will built the keys milestones of our project according to our deliverables. That are:

  • Research and analysis of Datasets
  • Disease diagnosis
  • Doctor Consultancy
  • Diet Plans by Nutritionist 

Then, we will further divide our milestones into activites. So that we can complete our project prefectly. Activites regarding Milestones are:
