Project Summary

Pakistan is fighting with Polio Virus for over a period of decade but still Polio Virus cannot be eradicated from Pakistan So, we need a system, a solution to overcome this problem. After visiting polio centers and observing many polio campaigns and scrutinized the existing polio vaccination system, we proposed technology oriented secure polio vaccination system. This Polio Vaccination system consists of an android application for users and polio workers and a web application for an area in-charge. This system helps the area in-charge and the polio worker teams that go door to door and have to write the relevant 

information on the walls. This system helps them to save the relevant information of vaccinated houses as well as positive polio cases and non-compliant polio cases. This system helps each area in-charge in creating, updating the teams, and monitoring the progress of those teams. The user itself can check the latest vaccination date of his/her house, and can also volunteer for the vaccination campaign.

 Our purpose is to build a system which makes the polio vaccination system effective and competent so we will be able to stand against the wild polio virus and make the Pakistan free from polio virus.

Project Objectives

The following are the objectives of FYP “Digital Polio Vaccination System”:

1. It will provide a way to visualize polio virus cases and non-compliance cases, pending cases.
2. The project will make the polio vaccination process more effective.
3. It will involve an everyday user in the process of polio vaccination.
4. This project will divide the problem to micro level and help us erdaticate the virus.
5. It will design a cost-effective system that can provide help in the polio vaccination process by digitizing the polio vaccination process.

Project Implementation Method

We are developing an android and web-based application to digitize the whole system we are using the top-down approach in which we divide the components in to sub components and then we will design and develop it.

We are using android studio for developing android application and Microsoft visual studio Code IDE for the web application.

We are using MySQL phpmyadmin for storing our data. Volley Library to connect API's to Android Application

Benefits of the Project

The purpose and implementation of digital polio vaccination system is to facilitate the polio worker teams working in an outdated environment, to provide a platform to users, stake holders and area in-charge where they can be on a same page. This system allows all of them to get involved in the polio vaccination process.

The proposed system targets the problems faced by polio teams, area in-charge and common people and provide the solution to overcome the problem.

The goal of our project is to help our country to break free from this polio virus and to make "Polio Free Pakistan" Dream come true.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This project includes an android based application developed using Android Studio and PHP is used to develop web applications.

1. The Android application will serve the polio worker teams and an everyday user.
2. The web application will be used by area in-charge.
