Automatic tire inflation system is designed to inflate tires of automobile automatically when tire pressure is lower than normal. under inflated vehicles cause accidents and also result in more emissions and pollution and fuel consumptions. Sensors are used to sense pressure level of vehicle.

Sensors are used to sense pressure level of vehicle. A DC compressor powered by DC battery is used to inflate tires. Rotory union is used so it can inflate while vehicle is running.
Project ObjectivesVehicles with under inflated tires often lead to major road accidents .
Vehicles with under inflated tires require more fuel consumption and also cause pollution.
A system is designed to inflate the tires of car automatically to a set limit by sensing the pressure in the tires and then inflating the tires to required pressure.
So vehicle runs smoothly and chances of accidents are reduced significantly.
The system is also effective in cleaning or dusting the engine with air.
Project Implementation MethodA system is designed to maintain the pressures in tires of vehicle to it’s standard level.
Pressure sensors are used to measure the pressure in tires . These sensors give off reading continuously when the vehicle is moving.
Direct tire pressure sensors explicitly measure air pressure. These battery powered sensors send radio signals to a receiver within a car .
A controller takes input from this sensor and compares it to preset pressure value .
If the pressure is lower, A DC compressor is used to inflate the tires.
DC compressor is powered with a DC battery . A compressor is a device that increases pressure of same air and reduces its volume.
Compressor inflates the tires through solenoid valves and pipes. The desired pressure is achieved due to reciprocating nature of compressor.
Compressor will inflate the tires to a level set by micro-controllers.
Rotary unions are used to make pipes in contact with tires as the vehicle’s moving. Rotary unions make sure no leakage of air
Air is transmitted as needed via the rotary union into the tires.
Pipes carry pressurized air sent by the compressor. Air filter may also be used .
A pipe is used for cleaning of engine as well.
In this way , tires of vehicle will not get underinflated . Tire wear will reduce significantly because correctly inflated tires don’t wear much. Also fuel consumption of vehicle will be reduced.
Ideal amount of air is supplied to tires without any leakage .
