Project Summary

The project “DESIGNING OF AUTONOMOUS NAVIGATION AND TARGET LOCKING SYSTEM FOR GROUND VEHICLE” is mainly composed of two modes of control, manual and autonomous modes. In manual mode, IoT application moves the tank manually as per user’s commands. This application also provides the control of fire through the gun to the user. In Autonomous mode, the tank moves towards the target by the help of already fed location coordinates avoiding the obstacles coming in its way. Using image processing, it verifies the stationary target and shoot it. It can detect the target using three techniques as according to user’s requirements:

  • Color Tracking
  • Object Detection
  • Face Recognition

Project Objectives

The aim of this project is to design a system that enables a vehicle to navigate from one place to another,  detect & recognize the target using image processing, and shoot it.

Benefits of the Project

Defense Applications:

  • It can be used for Defense Purposes. It can update and strengthen the weaponries of the Security Agencies.
  • In the tribal areas of our country, Pakistan army has been fighting against the terrorists for about half a decade. The soldiers can be replaced by these combat robots which can equally fight like human soldiers.
  • This tank can be operated from far distance, sitting in the base.
  • It will also be used for the security of sensitive     institutions and buildings of the city.
  • It will have the ability to locate the position of the bases of enemy and can target them.
  • This tank can also be used by doing some modifications for several other purposes like mine detection, fire extinguishing purpose and health and first aid purposes.

Commercial Market:

  • The image processing technique which is used in this project can be used as a helpful tool for Government to recognize the criminals in their safe city projects and also for surveillance purposes.
  • The vehicles can be tracked from anywhere using the Navigation technique being used in this project.
