Design of Smart Antennae for mmWave Communication
mmWave 5G has brought a revolution in the field of communications with its large bandwidth and virtually no latency. But these small waves face huge path loss and highly directional antennae are required to compensate this. For this purpose smart antennae are required, which can actively form and steer the beam towards the intended user instead of the conventional omnidirectional pattern. This not only increases the range of a single antenna but also improves the overall coverage in a dense signal environment by reducing the interference.
The project focuses on the design and development of an experimental smart antenna which can operate at the commercial mmWave frequency band and steer its beam at a given angle, to be used for commercial applications.
