Project Summary

Our Project deals with the extraction of Bio fuel from the waste plastics known as PLASTIC PYROLYZED OIL which can be marketed at much cheaper rates compared what already present in the market. As we know that both Plastics and Petroleum derived fuels are Hydrocarbons that contain the elements of Carbon & Hydrogen. Pyrolysis process becomes an option of waste-to-energy technology to deliver bio-fuel to replace fossil fuel.

Project Objectives

1.Design and fabrication of plastic waste to fuel conversion plant

2.Reducing fuel consumption for heating plastic

3.Make useful use of byproduct of the process like gas fuel and solid waste (char)

4.Analyzing the resultant liquid fuel (studying its Density, Viscosity, Flammability, Calorific Value)

Project Implementation Method

  • Collect plastic waste
  • Make it small pieces   
  • Feeding into Pyrolysis reactor
  • Provide heat to reactor
  • Control temperature (350°C to 900°C)
  • Condensed the products
  • Collect the prolysised products
  • Distillation to different types of fuels
  • Testing of fuel
