SAR Image reconstruction using compress sensing algorithm
The purpose of this project is to scan the hostile environment via drone installed with Synthetic Aperture Radar and compile its data to get high definition image in all weather. However due to limited accuracy of navigational sensor, there are always residual error left in estimation of actual flight path, especially in airborne SAR applications.These uncompensated platform motion errors create uncertainties in distance and angle measurement which result in phase errors in the received SAR signal. Residual phase error are main cause of the degradation in high resolution SAR images. Basically focused on the Compress Sensing Technique and its efficient use in reconstruction of image is mandatory for accomplishment of this project.
The following tasks will be performed in this project:
(1) Study of working of Synthetic Aperture Radar.
(2) Collecting data from Synthetic Apperture Radar.
(3) Proccessing it using suitable algorithm like Compress Sensing.
(4) Perfomance improvement of selected algorithm.
The project is multi task project. First of all we need to study basic working of SAR and also about different tecniques used in it for image reconstruction and then on the basis of that study we will select suitable technique for image reconstruction and implement it using MATLAB and further performance improvement in that technique.
Synthetic Aperture Radar image reconstruction can be use for real time surveillance of hostile area with high resolution image. And can give situational awareness of other site, further more it can also be used on airborne or space borne aircrafts for prediction of weather, crop condition and about the status glacier in particular region.
The expected deliverables of this project are as follow:
(a) Selection of suitable technique for image reconstruction.
(b) Implementation of selected technique.
(c) Performance improvement of selected technique.
