Deep Pi Car
This project aims at building a self driving car which relies deeply on the algorithms of deep learning , and programming skills of python and respberry Pi. By integrating both hardware and software this project can be implemented on a smaller scale as well as a larger scale. The raspberry pi is integrated with different modules including different sensors and eventually integrating them to form this complete self driving car.
The core objectives of the project are as follows:
•Road safety with Efficiency
•Bringing Innovation to Pakistan
•Reduction of Casualty rate on roads
•Providing and ensuring the comfort of the people
This project is going to be implemented via a few different components . We are basically going to take a sun founder's pi car kit and take that as the chassis of the car . After that the specific components will be attached to the chassis and then once the hardware implementation is complete , we will then implement the deep learning algorithms onto it. Once these deep learning algorithms are implemented , the lane detection and obstacle detection algorithms are implemented which will eventually make the project move and detect lanes and then eventually detect the obstacles. This is going to be implemented via python , raspberry pi and its OS and open CV softwares through the concepts of machine learning , neural networks and deep learning.
There are many benefits of the project. These benefits include the following :
1) Automation of the cars
2) Road safety and reduction of accidents to save precious lives
3) provide comfort and leisure to the drivers whilst driving
4) It will make sure that the owner or driver doesnt lose their path or way.
The final deliverable will be a complete implementation of the project which will be able to detect lanes , detect obstacles and also perform self driving. This will all be done through raspberry pi , and different modules and components discussed below.
