Project Summary

The development of a system which will detect the intentions of the person entering any website by personality test. The aim of the system is to identify hacker’s personality profiles, to do so we will be using the the OCEAN model also knows as Big Five Personality Traits Model. We intend to go for psychological approach that will be used to explain behaviors and personality traits of the hackers. A lot of work has been done for determining the personality types of people. We aimed to do more work that specifically focuses on psychological triggers of the users with wrong intentions and identifying them so that this can be used as key to moving forward with the approach to prevent cybercrimes. The development of such system included research that was carried out by going through varios research papers for identifiying the techniques to do the proposed work and finalizing the technique to be used. Thus, the aimed results were achieved.

Project Objectives

The main goal was to prevent cyber crimes and make the system secure that any user with wrong intentions should not be able to enter the websites. In combatting online cimes, such predictions can help us know the criminal intentions of the hackers so that we can block them. This software application aims to be a system that can predict the personality of the users using OCEAN model of personality traits, identifying the suspicious criminals and blocking them from getting further access to websites.

Project Implementation Method

We intended to design a system that analyzes the different aspects of user’s personality and after analyzing the personality traits, the systems either blocks a user or gives him further access to the website based on the results.

For the purpose of analyzing the personality aspects of the users, we used Big Five Personality Traits Model also known as OCEAN model. We used the relevant dataset for these personality traits from Kaggle and applied Machine Learning algorithm for the training and prediction.

Benefits of the Project

Cyber Crime, especially through the internet, has grown in importance as the computer has become central to commerce, entertainment and government. The main concern behind this project is to develop a system that can identify hackers and stop them from reaching your systems and using your websites illegally to carry out their criminal activities. Preventing different sorts of cyber crimes by identifying the criminals is the basic concern behind this project.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Whenever a new user wants to visit our website, he is asked to create his account first and get himself registered. Before allowing him to create account he is given a questionnaire that needs to be filled. The users will be asked to indicate their favorable responses to the questionnaire items by degree. After getting responses for all the questions a Machine Learning code runs and gives some results for all the five personality traits. Based on the results of the scores of personality traits the user is either allowed to continue with the creation o account or would be blocked to contnue.
