It includes hardware components such as a computer, a bar code scanner, a printer, and also software to manage the operation of the Mart. The most basic function of a POS system is to handle sales. When a customer arrives at a POS counter with goods to purchase, the cashier will start a new sale transaction. When the barcode of goods is read by the POS system, it will retrieve the name and price of this good from the backend catalog system and interact with the inventory system to deduce the stock amount of this good. When the sale transaction is over, the customer can pay in cash, credit card.
On the other hand whenever items in the inventory are finished or less than the required quantity then the owner of the Mart will contact the suppliers of the companies who will provide the products that are needed in the Mart. After acquiring those products at Mart the sale person or staff usually scan all those products through barcode reader so that the each and every data about the products become stored in POS Database with quantity. The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that the owner will receive a message regarding daily base expense and profit from the firm.

The project implementation involves incremental approach where POS will be developed in increments. The software contains both frontend and backend. In the front end, the admin and user (Cash counter) would have separate functionalities available. The admin will upload all products categories vise on the website. The user will sell the items to the customer, and the products will be updated automatically at the backend. Moreover, the system will be scheduled to send messages on daily basis to the owner regarding in and out cash using API and JQuery. The description of stock price and quantity etc. will be stored in a database. The API calls will be used to implement the barcode scanning functionality. The whole system is web-based and will be implemented using bootstrap, Laravel, and MySQL.

Messaging Facility:
The significant benefits in the implementation POS lies in incorporating messaging facility regularly, to the owner. Thus, the owners of mart will have a record of cash flow while residing anywhere web based version.
Web Based Version:
POS will be web based, and users of different branches can view the stock that is not available in their own branch. This way the data of stocks will be held in a centralized database, maing it easier to manage the stock.
