Management system is the framework of processes and procedures used to ensure that an organization can fulfill all task required to achieve its objectives. In recent times, most organization will opt to use management system in their daily business task. There are those who still use the non-computerized system as opposed to the computerized management system. The non-computerized system may be effective but it also causes greater task load when implemented. Computerized system makes it easier for users with functions such as searching, automatic calculation, and display of related information with minimal queries. “Beauty Salon Management System (BSMS)” is the desktop-based salon management software with appointment scheduling functionality. It connects clients, salons, and stylists in a community allowing user to login salon’s software and manage record of stylists, and book or cancel appointments. Users can only read the record entered in system. Salons can specify the stylists that work at their salons, as well as the services they offer. Salons can also book appointments for customers, and can view and print schedules in convenient formats. . It runs on local host server and MySQL is used as the database server. The programming language used in developing Beauty Salon Management System is C# programming language. Some of the major modules include user account registration, login/logout, appointment scheduling, schedule viewing and printing, adding stylists and services to a salon account, adding customer details and reports.

 The development of “BSMS” is to act an alternative to the non-computerized system implemented by Huma Beauty Salon. The system developed will be able to decrease the task load of owner and employees of Salon. Software Development Life Cycle methodology is used in the development of “BSMS”. This system is installed in computer device. Hence; Beauty Salon Management System is an alternative for the salon to manage recording tasks.

Project Objectives

• Objective is to overcome the major limitation of the existing enabling effective management of the customer details thereby improving the performance.
• To create services based salon, whose goal is to exceed customer’s expectations.
• With improved computerization being involved in the maintenance of customer details, error and inconsistencies can be kept at par.
• Easy retrieval of data will be made possible by finding techniques.
• Validation of data will ensure only accurate, valid and complete data is stored in the database.
• This will be much less time consuming comparing to existing system.
• It provides information regarding the beauty parlor number of services running on the beauty center system.
• To provide an upgrade support for the beauty shop system resources.
• Salon management system with a window based interface can allows users to work more conveniently even if they are new to computers.
• It is intuitive and easy to use directly impacts client satisfaction and employee success.
• To make customized reports to generate for tracking employee performance, measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, measuring customer satisfaction through service or stylist categories, and evaluating revenue trends.
• To track useful employee metrics such as employee availability, employee schedules, and customer satisfaction and retention.
• To manage all employees with detailed performance reports including commission tracking.
• It will be easy to retrieve records as all records are placed in a proper way.
• It will be easy to add or update records.
• It will provide management accurate information in order to help decision making process.

Project Implementation Method

According to analysis of the project, I suggested to use prototype model because in prototype model, instead of freezing the requirements before a design or coding can proceed, a throwaway prototype is built to understand the requirements. This prototype is developed based on the currently known requirements. Prototype model is a software development model. By using this prototype, the client can get an “actual feel” of the system, since the interactions with prototype can enable the client to better understand the requirements of the desired system. This model works best in scenarios where not all of the project requirements are known in detail ahead of time. It is an iterative, trial-and-error process that takes place between the developers and the users. Prototyping is an attractive idea for complicated and large systems for which there is no manual process or existing system to help determining the requirements.

“BSMS” is designed to overcome the drawbacks of existing system. It is the complete salon application that will help to run salon to increased profits with features like appointment book salon, salon client management, salon inventory, salon accounts.  This integrated solution is a complete answer to needs because the front desk needs like appointment book, cash register functions and client management is integrated with inventory control, payroll, accounts payable and financials.

• It saves time and money by not having to double enter information into two different systems.
•  It is a paperless system and gives accurate result.
• To keeps records about customer and their payments.
• To reordering inventory is easy with the beauty salon management system.
• The report makes it easy for owner to decide which items need to reorder.
• To provide easy way of finding and entering information of the employees and clients.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

For this system we need Windows 8, 8.1, Windows 10 is eligible to support this operating system in good manner. Because in Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 there is a lot of features for multi user environment which will help the user.
