Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThe advancement and development in security and surveillance technologies have attracted researchers and investors to deploy more secure devices for security purposes. Autonomous Weapons have boundless and variable applications due to their small size and their ability to perform more efficiently in less time and in a critical situation such as in war, surveillance, and numerous public services.In this project, our aim is to design the prototype which has the capability to manage the control of the weapon and fire the target/object automatically by object detection, target tracking, and image processing by using Raspberry Pi model 3b+, Pi Camera/Webcam, Automatic Gun and Arduino UNO. Moreover, this developed solution will have the capability to find any wounded soldier in war within a short time. We will achieve this goal by using Python 3, Open CV 2 and Image Processing. The developed solution uses Python language for programming purpose and Open CV 2 for image processing, target/object detection, and tracking and it can be proved much faster than manually. Thus, the proposed solution will be beneficial for both national and international purpose as well.

3. Integration of target detection, tracking, shooting, and wireless modules.
4. Development of user-friendly interface for controlling Autonomous Weapon System.
6. Provisioning of cheap solutions to National Defence Organizations.

8. The main objective of our project is to develop the Automatic Aim Gun which can be deployed on the border areas of the country to assist the armed forces.
Project Implementation Method1. Selection of Hardware i.e Raspberry Pi model 3b+, Pi Camera/Webcam, Servo Motors, and Automatic Gun, Arduino UNO, etc.
2. Hardware selection based on desired software i.e Raspbian OS, Compiler, and Interpreter, etc
3. Interfacing of Hardware to Software
4. Selection of relevant Algorithms and Libraries.
5. Selection of Relay for automatic triggering of Gun.
6. Database management software development
7. Integration of the database software with Raspberry Pi model 3b+, Arduino UNO, Automatic Gun, and Servo Motors, etc
8. Initial testing and verification of the developed prototype
9. Handover the developed prototype to Industry and Ignite.
Benefits of the ProjectIn the present situation, no such type of cheapest and highly efficient Autonomous Weapon System for Defence Organizations exists in Pakistan. Thus, the Industry and Security Agencies has demand for a system which has the capability to easily detect, track, shoot the target/object and record the data into the database and also can find the wounded person in war or any critical situation. Thus, this solution will directly benefit the Industry and Security Agencies in Pakistan and indirectly this prototype can be extended for war, security purpose and surveillance as well as in automatic check-in or to locate the Arms in a crowded or overpopulated area.
Provisioning of cheap solutions to National Defence Organizations.
It will reduce the casualties, human efforts and will be active 24/7 hours. It will also enhance the security system and fast reaction than Humans.
It will reduce the loss of human life, prevent the assets from destruction, assist the army in war and it can also be utilized for monitoring the Line of Control and other border areas.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableAutonomous Weapon System for Defence Organization deliverable includes:
1. Autonomous Weapon having Webcam that has the capability to detect the object/target. (Range depends on Camera selection).
2. Servo Motors that can carry a load and movement of Automatic Gun (i.e for horizontal and vertical movement) through Arduino UNO.
3. Raspberry Pi model 3b+ and Arduino UNO are communicated through wired connections.
4. We are using Raspbian OS for the management of other Softwares, Compilers and Interpreters, etc.
5. We are using Open CV 2 to manage the recorded data of the target/object after detection and track the object/target.
6. In our project, we are using Python 3 for programming purpose and Voila Jones Algorithms for Image Processing, etc.
7. A Tripod Stand that can carry a load of Automatic Gun, Servo Motors, Webcam, and other necessaries.
8. We are using Pi Camera/Webcam for target/object detection and tracking the object/target.
9. The purpose of our project is to develop the Automatic Aim Gun which will be deployed across the border areas to assist the army and minimize the life of the human.
10. In our project target tracking and detection, accuracy is 70%.
11. It also includes the training of the model by using the combination of different pictures for improving the detection accuracy.
