Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe dramatic increase of vehicles on the road leads to congestions and accidents that are the major cause of death in many countries. As there is a huge advancement of traffic management system and automotive technologies, still on a daily basis the number of accidents increases. In many cases the lack of providing timely medical services and first aid cause for loss of life. In such a situation, an automatic accident detection can help to save the loss of life. So, it is necessary to develop a system for accident detection and timely alert of the ambulance. In our proposed approach we will combine the Internet of Things (IoT) and Vehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) to design a sensor-based system (framework) for automatic detection of accident and severity of emergency level. In case of emergency, the message will be sent to a hospital using VANET, where the central server will then find out the location of the accident and nearest medical center and after finding the basic information it will send a message for an ambulance.
Project Objectives- To detect the exact location of accident using (GPS, GSM module) for the communication of small onboard devices (inside vehicle) and by connections between sensors.
- The inter-communication between the nodes to alert the nearby medical center.
In the proposed work, for writing a code and uploading it to the board an open-source Arduino Software (IDE) is used. The design steps of the proposed model are as follows:
- Interfacing of various sensors and their connectivity
- Interfacing and connectivity with the central server
- Testing the proposed system
The most prior benefit of this project is to save the lives of people in a right time. Main motto of the accident system project is to decrease the chances of casualties in such accident. This proposed design is very useful for the accidents occurred in deserted places and those occurring at night time which are unattended. This system can play a vital role in daily life in future
