Currently, many countries of the world, including Pakistan are suffering from COVID?19. A few countries such as the USA, Germany, Italy and several others are facing its 
spread in the community transfer phase, which indicates that one infected person can 
infect more than 100 people to whom he contacts. So, the solution to the problem is to 
wear mask and maintain social distance to stop further spread. Existing procedures to 
identify the person’s mask & checking temperature are time-consuming. Therefore, for 
overcoming this issue, we have proposed a model, which can efficiently detects face 
mask and scan body temperature and permit only those who are wearing mask and have 
normal temperature. Additionally, this model will also help the people to maintain social 
distance among them. So, provided the problem, the task is to classify people on the basis 
of their mask, body temperature & maintaining social distance.

Project Objectives

Due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19, face masks are becoming more common in 
public. People used to wear masks to protect themselves from air pollution before Covid-19. A number 
of them hide their faces, while others are self-conscious of their appearance in order to hide their 
emotions from the public. COVID-19 transmission is slowed by wearing face masks, according to 
scientists. COVID19 is the most recent influenza virus to affect human health in the twentieth century. 
Because of its rapid spread, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a global pandemic in 
2020.To address the above problem, we presented a distributed automatic system that is used for 
measuring body temperature, detect face mask and monitor social distancing. To prevent the spread of 
COVID-19, social distance should be used in conjunction with other everyday preventive measures such 
as wearing masks, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and periodically washing your 
hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. The practice of keeping a safe distance between a 
person and his or her surroundings is mandatory nowadays to prevent this pandemic. MLX90614 
contactless temperature sensor are attached and used to detect person's body temperature.It meets the 
medical requirements as well. We are designing a prototype in which contactless mask detection and 
body temperature will be detect by using IP Camera and temperature sensor.

Project Implementation Method

This project 
presents the overall design of face mask detection and temperature scanner entry system with affordable 
and low cost. In this project, we acquaint a moderate control towards increment of COVID-19. Along 
with the face mask, body temperature and sanitization also plays a vital role in being safer. Thus, 
monitoring the individuals that are wearing the mask or not is more significant. Now that many shops, 
offices and institutions are re-opening again after the Corona lockdown, many businesses are faced with 
the need to provide the best possible protection for their staff and customers. Face masks and body 
temperature checks play an important part in the protection effort. While this is already done routinely 
and at a large scale at airports or railway stations, many businesses and institutions are struggling to 
meet the challenge. Face mask monitoring often requires additional staff resources. At the same time, 
body temperature checks by staff come with certain risks in terms of hygiene and data privacy. In this 
project, we introduce an affordable solution aiming to increase COVID-19 indoor safety, covering 
several relevant aspects:
1) Contactless temperature sensing
2) Mask detection.
3) Hand Sanitization.
4) Maintain social distance.

Benefits of the Project

Numerous businesses are confronted with the obligation to provide the best possible protection for 
their employees and customers now that many shops, offices, and institutions have reopened 
following the Corona lockdown. Face masks and body temperature checks are crucial components of 
the defense strategy. Many organizations and institutions are straining to meet the challenge, even 
though it is already done consistently and on a significant scale at airports and railway stations. Face 
mask monitoring frequently necessitates additional staffing. Staff body temperature checks, on the 
other hand, pose some hazards in terms of cleanliness and data privacy.This report also provides an 
efficient solution to monitor social distancing practices in public areas where it is very difficult to 
monitor manually. There are key benefits to develop this system such as:
• Fully automated monitoring of compliance with face mask and body temperature 
requirements.
• Reliable detection within seconds.
• Saves staff resources.
• Avoids potential hygiene and data privacy risks, thanks to fully automated, data 
protection compliant technology.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Face Mask Detection:
The camera is used to scan for mask, temperature sensor for forehead temperature. In this 
case the system operates a servo motor to open the barrier allowing the person to enter the 
premises
Temperature Scanning:
The system makes use of a contactless temperature scanner, mask monitor and contactless hand 
sanitizer. The scanning process is connected directly with a human barrier to bar entry if high 
temperature, no mask is detected. Any person will not be provided entry without this scanning 
process. If a person is flagged by system for high temperature or no Mask the system bars the 
person from entry. Also, it will remind on LCD screen, that you have to wear the mask.
Contactless Hand Sanitization:
Now for Hand Sanitization process, the Proximity sensor will sense the hand and sends a signal to 
PNP Transistor to produce output and the DC motor will enable when we insert our hands for 
sanitization then the led indicator enables and starts sanitization until removing the hands.

Social distancing:

Social distancing is done by using machine learning through IP camera.
