Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. We know that there is not one autism but many subtypes, most influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Autism is a spectrum disorder, each person with autism has a distinct set of strengths and challenges. The ways in which people with autism learn, think and problem-solve can range from highly skilled to severely challenged. Some people with ASD may require significant support in their daily lives, while others may need less support and, in some cases, live entirely independently. Care takers and parents are associated with these autistic kid to help them perform their daily activities or routine tasks perfectly.

Internet of things can provide solution to parents, autistic children and the caretaker. Internet of things can contribute to health sector using smartphones. In the current decade almost, every person owns a smart phone and with the help of a self-assisted app monitored by the parents may ease the lives of autistic children and the care taker.

Autism caretaker application will meet all the requirements of the autistic kid. The primary element of said proposition is day to day movement arranging and distinguishing their feelings so they ready to communicate their sentiments.

We want to foster an android application for Autistic kids to assist them with filling in a general public and it might facilitate the existence of the overseer and guardians and assists the patient with playing out their standard exercises all alone.

Project Objectives

According to a recent study conducted by Center of Disease control and prevention (CDC) in 2020, 1 in 54 child is affected with Austin spectrum disorder (ASD). To provide an environment in which children can learn and understand things by playing games. There are many applications available especially designed for these children focusing on single features. Our app will provide different features under one umbrella.

• Profiles of both parents and the admin will be created.
• Children will learn in an interactive way with a colorful UI.
• By playing a matching and pairing game, these kids can improve their communication skills and understand the meanings of images and symbols.
• It will perform emotion recognition using tensor flow lite (mobile-based machine learning) framework. This will help to monitor these kids' emotions.
• Autistic kid can perform multiple tasks simultaneously for example to play puzzle game

Project Implementation Method

Firebase with android studio will be used for implementation of said project. Android XML are used to create the user interface.  High speed internet will be required for hosting and storing the said application.

Benefits of the Project

Proposed application users will be parents, autistic kid and the care taker. It will become a medium between parent and the autistic kid. The whole idea of this application is to provide benefit for both the parent and the autistic kid. Similarly, the patient will also share benefits from the said application. Autistic kids may perform his/her activities without anybody’s intervention. They are able to learn and complete tasks through trial and error method. It will help them to improve skills essential for interaction and communication with others. Additionally, this app will help parents and caregivers to understand what the child needs

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The framework used for said project ensure that the system which is going under development is to be secure, scalable, robust, maintainable and user-friendly. Latest updated version of following will be used:

• Android Studio: Used to develop android Application
• Firebase Database: Google API used to save data and retrieve data
• Android Phone: Used to run our application on it
• Laptop used to install Android Studio

The final deliverable of "Autism Caretaker" will be an android based application along with documentation and user manual. The application will be compatible with android API version 21 and above
