Project Summary

This project aims to develop an “AU Discussion Forum and Group Chat” application. This application will allow students of Air University to share their ideas, information related to any topic, and queries related to subjects. The teachers or other students can respond to their queries and ideas. This application will contain various knowledge groups as per described in computer science department. Students and teachers can post their queries in respective knowledge group. Any faculty member can answer their queries. This application will help users send and receive text messages, audio, video, and allow file transferring. Students will also find information related to events, jobs, and internships according to their discipline and interest. A task management module for creating and managing various tasks and AI Chat bot is also added.

Project Objectives

The AU Discussion Forum and Group Chat will be able to meet the following goals and objectives.

To validate student’s authentication for Login.
To maintain a list of active knowledge group in CS department.
To provide an interface where students can post questions.
To provide information about events, jobs, and internships.
To provide task management module for managing tasks.

Project Implementation Method

The AU Discussion Forum And Group Chat will be a web and mobile app free for all the students and teachers of Air University. They will be able to have group chat with the other users as well as private chat where they can discuss problems, share ideas and information, ask questions, get answers, and have details about jobs, internships, and events. There will be module for managing the tasks assigned to different users.

1. We will be using react.js for frontend.

2. Django for backend along with mongDB as a database.

3. Progressive web app using API for mobile / Android app

Benefits of the Project

The AU Professional Discussion Forum will be very useful and helpful for the students and teachers of Air University. There is no specific professional forum for the students and teachers of the Air University to share knowledge, ideas, information and have discussions. They are having difficulties in communicating with students and teachers. They can easily use this platform to have communication with students and teachers, get answers to their questions, and professional information about the jobs and internships according to their discipline. They can manage task and keep progress of tasks assigned to different users.
