Project Summary

The main theme behind this research is to make water distribution system smarter to save the country from water crisis and such problems that are being faced by cape town and other areas of the world.This idea will help us to consume water according to a computer controlled intelligent system.

        In this project we are going to develop smart water distribution system automated with the help of computer or an andriod phone over wifi.Along with manual distribution,it will allow us to schedule water distribution on the basis of daily,monthly and yearly plan without the need of any human worker.From this we donot need a waterman for each sector,we just need  one person that schedule the plan and water will be  supplied to every sector automatically, it will provide continous water supply in an efficient way.By the use of this system we can save a huge amount of water which has been wasted because of human error .This saved amount of water  may be used in welfare of other country where availability of a water is a major problem.

This system also monitor the amount of water supplied to each sector,this information may help in developing an efficient water distribution plan.We are having a water level detector at the main water tank that is providing water to different sectors from this detector we can detect the irregular behaviour of water or the wastage of water and at the userend we also have a detector that shows how much water they received and how much water is supplied to them from the main tank.From this they can find out if there is any leakage in between.we are showing the whole project by hardware components.and we have also tried to overcome the issue that on someday we have a better pressure of water and on the other day the amount of water we receive is very small ,so this issue is resoved because it is free of human intereption.We will receive the same amount of water everyday.Our this project can solve many of the issues related to water that we are facing everyday.As this is the latest idea and nobody have worked on it before,the house management is quite realted to our hardware but our project is the scheduled type water supply system for  resedential areas.

Project Objectives

  • As we are aware that the water crisis in the pakistan is increasing day by dayand we are on the number fourth in the whole world in water consumption,to overcome the problem of the water consumption we proposed an idea for the welfare of our country to automatically manage the water supply system with the help of mobile appusing IOS or andriod.Our main objectives is to control the water level and irregularity like we always have some issues with the waterman of our sector and with his timing,he turned the water on and off according to his own timings ,they may waste alot of water so basically this project saves the water

  •  we can control the whole city water supply just by a single click.It also saves the budget because instead of having seperate waterman for every sector we have only one person that is controlling.

  • Another objective is to monitor the water level of the main tank and compare it with the water tanks of our houses to see wheather the water is fully supplied or is there any leakage .we can detect the leakage of any pipe in between two two tanks

Project Implementation Method

  • First of all we use an ardino and perform coding on it through which we can control the wifi module.

  • Wifi module and ardino are interlinked with each other through RX TX.

  • On the other hand we have designed a web application and that application over the internet linked the ardino,wifi module and mobile.third step is basically to give access to it through application.

  • we use four step down transformer to turn the motor ON and OFF.These transformer are controlled  by the command that we give through an application.Suppose we give a command through an application to yurn the motor 4 ON,then the transformer of that specific motor will come in working state and provide power to the motor.Same like this all the motors will work step by step.If we perform this operation scheduelly or timebase then we will receive the signal automatically through an application and motor will also work automatically.

  • when the motor will start working then the submersible pump that we use as a motor,we have connected pipes with these submersible pumps through which we can provide water to different sectors.like if we press 1 through an application  then pump 1 will turned ON and water is supplied to sector 1 .Same like if we press 2 from an application ,sector 2 will get the water and same operations are performed for all the sectors.We can also turned the water supply ON for all the sectors at a time and can also turned OFF for all the sectors.

  • Another feature we have used in this project is the water level detection .we have divided the tank into 5 parts like 0,20,40,60,80 and 100.These are the levels that shows the percentage of water in the tank.we have 4 sensors in the tank that will detect the level of water and will display the result in the form of LED's .

  • As we also have a detector at the user end that will also show the percentage of water in their tanks through LED's.Through these two indicator we can check the water wastage in the distribution line or if the line is broken due to variance between the main water level indicator and the consumer level indicator.we can detect the irregularity of water from these two indicators.

Benefits of the Project

  • Benefits of this project is that it will make the water management easy for watermen,they donot need to turn the liver on and off for each water tank of different sectors.These all operations are performed automatically.

  • It will also beneficial for the users as they will have proper timings of water supply,they will get the water at a specific time.They donot need to wait for hours and sometimes it happens that because of the carelessness of the waterman ,the watertanks of our houses overflows for hours,that waste alot of water.Our this projects resolved all these type of issues.

  • And because of the water level detector at the main tank and the detector at our houses , we can detect the leakage in the pipes.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

  • we will give a continous supply of water to the users that will not be intrupted.

  • Same amount of water is supplied daily.we actually have issue related to this someday we have better pressure of water on the next day the pressure of water is very small that we hardly get half of the water tank filled,so this issue is solved as on daily basis we will have equal amount of water

  • we can monitor the loses

  • it is fully automatic ,free from human interuption ,no favourtisim  like if you have good terms with the waterman you will get water on daily basis ,that must not be considered because it is fully controlled by machine
