Project Summary

In our project Smart café tables, the major factors that make ordering meals at a restaurant easier are the menu's Interface simple and users friendly. A smart tablet menu significantly transforms the dining experience for customers. This project takes importance for a restaurant to assist their customer in different aspects. Sometimes there are different types of problem that occurs while taking orders from the customer so our project is the solution to these types of problems he/she can select the things that they want. Our project is inspired by KFC and Mac touch screens they are fixed on walls but in our project touch screens are assembled or fixed on tables. They are only used to take the order but we provide facilities for entertainment to the customers. We use Waterfall Model for our project because it has a clear structure, easy to manage and control, and has QA testing. This project “Android-based smart café tables” is majorly developed in Java language, Firebase database is used for data storage and different types of web links are used. After development, we check out the results whether our application works properly or not? It provides assistance to our users or not. At last, the conclusion is the basic aim of the development of this application is the assistance of restaurant management and costumers

Project Objectives

The goal of this project is to assist our customers. We use different types of algorithms to build an application for a touch screen that build in the table. These systems use information filtering methods to process data and display the user with potentially more relevant items. This structure benefits both service providers and users. They saved time and money by narrowing down the best items to order. Our primary objective is to build an Android-based Smart café tables system that can be helpful for both customers and Café management. Enhance the Learning process in the new generation. Providing a user-friendly automated system.

Project Implementation Method

The use case of the whole system that how the user will interact with the design and how the system will respond. The following figure demonstrates the flow of our tablet application. At the start the customer will get 3 options on their table, these options will contain idle animations unless the customer selects one of them. These options contain ordering food, playing games, and other apps. These 3 options have two basic categories, start the order process and wait for the order to arrive. Starting the order process means starting the whole process and waiting means either playing games or using other apps (Basically anything other than ordering). Once you order food, the bill for the food you ordered will be generated and shown to you for confirmation. Once you confirm it the order will be stored in the database and be given to the people at the counter and a timer will appear on the UI of the table. While waiting for food it will take the customer back to the main menu in case they want to order more food or just pass time with games and other apps

Benefits of the Project

An android base café table analyses the order service system and offers suggested services based on the advertisement in real-time. Instead of being processed orders and consumer entertainment are now supplied online in real-time, reducing non-operational costs and increasing work efficiency. Further research is needed to put the present system's design into practice. A mechanism for ordering meals or automated drinks in a restaurant is given. Based on observations at the Time Cafe restaurant, this technique appears to be comfortable, effective, and simple, enhancing restaurant worker performance and ensuring quality service and customer happiness. Overall, this is an exceptional meal ordering system for the restaurant industry, designed by integrating Android smartphone technology with wireless technology. Orders placed by the customer at the restaurant will be connected with the kitchen section, and the food menu placed by the customer at the restaurant will be shown on the table or on a smartphone in the kitchen. The Food Order Application Architecture System explains the primary menu of the android based application that will be stored on the café table in more or less detail.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Project Methodology describes the methodology that will be used for this project. Different developers use various methodologies in the development of their projects. It is determined by the type of project, its size, complexity, and, most importantly, the requirements. We can use the Waterfall model if all requirements are clear. Each methodology includes different types of steps, but the end results are the same. SDLS techniques that are commonly used include the waterfall model, prototype model, spiral model, modified waterfall model, and so on. 

  • Planning and designing • The first step that we do is requirement elicitation. • Which software should be used in development? • Do we have all the resources needed? • Design the Hardware device design in which the application install?
  • Implementation • In this step first of all we develop the application. • Secondly Database integration. • Front-end development using Android studio. 15 • Backend development using Java language and its libraries. • Verify the components that are used during this procedure are accurate or not.
  • Testing • Test each module. • Test the overall system. • Real-time testing to check the device’s working.
  • Deployment • Installing hardware as necessary. • Install Java and libraries in the backend of the system. 16 • Run front end in front of supervisor and admins systems.
